Just a quick reminder that we are having a   DT call   at   Cardmadfairy's Digi Days , it is open until the 16th of September and we're looking for a minimum of three new members. I made this card for my friend Stacie over at All Things Crafty for her birthday last week. I started with a blank white card and some lovely Stampin Up Pumpkin Pie.  I am not normally an orange person but I do like the shade of this orange.  Next is a layer of Stampin Up paper I received in a prize pack.  I added a strip of embossed pumpkin pie...embossed with Swiss Dots.  This fantastic image  I coloured with my copic pens.  This image is from a wonderful collection of Digi Images offered for sale to raise funds for Lyndell who is fighting cancer for the second time.  You can read more about this fundraiser here at Cheryl's who is doing a fantastic job organising everything. I just discovered Scrappy D's challenge for this fundraiser.  You have to use one of the digi images from the fundraiser store.  But be quick as today 31st August is the very last day.  :-0   More details here .

Hi all, another day......I wonder what it will bring. Well I have some chocolate box cards to share with you today.  You can find the instructions to these cards here at Craftmad .  I have adjusted theses so that it is a card on the side rather than the tag. This card I made to sell on my stall at the markets.  I love the idea of a card and present all in one. I started with Stampin Up Very Vanilla card then used Blue Edge Combo papers .  Aren't those thongs so cute.  Next I coloured up this fun image from Dawn Moore (Going Swimming) which I think suits the papers so well.  I coloured her with my Copic pens.  Finished with a Happy Birthday sticker and a row of bling. Last week ended up being such a blur....just random things of real life getting in the way of me coming in here to post and catch up on everyones creations.  I have now had the chance to visit everyone and you have all been very busy and inspiring. Today, I have the second of my swap cards for the August Craftmad Swap - Black and White .  I really love how this turned out.  I started with a black base card and used the new Blue Edge Combo papers . I ran some white card through my Swiss dots folder for the smaller section of the card.  Added this wonderful black and white gingham ribbon.  Used a computer generated sentiment and Stampin Up punches.  The tab holding it all closed is a flower from a Stampin up set and I used my Circle Spellbinders.  Finished with one terrific sticker corner . Hi everyone, today I am sharing one of my Black and White cards I have done for the Craftmad August swap .  Initially, I thought this would be pretty easy but was surprised at how difficult it was to use just two colours. This card I started with a blank black card base then a layer of white which I doodled around the edge with my fine tip black pen creating the chequered border.  I then inked up this lovely fern stamp from a Stampin Up set.  Added some ric-rac and black twine along the bottom of the card.  I then used these fantastic bird stickers ....one of my favourites.  I attached the stickers to white paper and cut around them and then attached to the card.  I finished the card by adding some Kindy Glitz to the fern leaves which seems to have given them a pinkish tinge although it is a white or clear glitter. Hi everyone, I made a very quick card yesterday so that I could remind you all about our ' Wheels ' challenge over at Unstampabelles .  You have until Friday 2nd September to enter and be in running to win the wonderful Kaszazz prize from Kelly . Morning everyone, how nice it is to be able to visit blogland again.  Yesterday, I spent recovering from being on the stall all day on Saturday also caught up on a weeks worth of blog posts around the world. Today I would like to share with you this card I made for Sister Carmel who was part of my life in Grade 5.  As you can see she turned 80 just recently.  My Mum asked if myself and friends (5 of us) would give a card with a couple of words in there for her.  I certainly enjoyed catching up with my friends and bringing back such good memories. I decided to do a joy fold card.  Started with purple Bazzill card and then a layer of green bazzill card which I ran through my Victoria embossing folder.  On the inside I have used a pearlised white paper and ran it through my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I then coloured this lovely Fuchsia image by Ruth with my Copic pens.   Next I finally got to use my 80th birthday sticker on this card. :-) ...

Is this not the most generous giveaway......I just had to take part. Hi everyone, what a mad week I have had.  However, I think I am finally ready for the markets tomorrow.  The weather looks like being perfect although a little windy. Now I have time to share with you the card/chocolate box I made for my friend Helen's daughter who turned 12 earlier this week.  I decided that I would use Cardmadfairy Digi Days newest challenge as the start of my card. This time our theme is  Buttons  and the design team have been making some wonderful cards which are sure to inspire, all using   Cardmadfairy   images which can be found in the   Digi Stamp Shop . It is Pyramid Race time here again in Gordonvale.  This Saturday 152 mad, crazy, very fit people will be running up Walsh's Pyramid (922m) from Norman Park centre of Gordonvale.....so that adds a couple extra  kilometres to the start and end of the race.  One friend who is very fit is running up yet again. :-) You can find out more details here . So this means I am madly getting ready for a stall at the markets.  Really madly as I ummed and arrgghhed this year.  Emailed on the weekend to see if they had any spots left and the answer was ... sorry, no.   Although, this morning I received an email saying there had been a cancellation and giving me first bids on the spot.  So now I am running around madly putting inserts into cards.  So if you don't see me for a couple of days you can imagine what I am doing.  Hope you have a great day. Another week has begun and not a Christmas card in sight. :-) Today I am sharing a card that I made using this months Card Sketch Challenge from over at Craftmad.  I totally enjoyed making this as I have used paper and digi stamp that I have not used before. Started with my blank white pre-scored card then a layer of Bazzill card .  Then this wonderful Blue Edge patterned paper Past Spodia Batik Blue Check .  This paper so reminds me of the chequered flag at the end of the race.  I then used my little postage stamp dies to cut the red glitter paper .  This terrific image I won from Limited Runs ages ago and finally have a chance to use it.  I coloured it with my Copic pens and used blue metallic paper to paper piece the cupcake wrapper.  To finish I added tiny black ' Happy Birthday ' stickers along the bottom. I am happy to say that I will now be moving on to everyday cards again.  Actually, I have a couple of birthdays coming up so will be starting with them. When I did this paper tole it looked very basic and even my daughter made the same comment.  Soon as I attached it to this wonderful glitter paper though, I think it has just popped out.  I then finished with this terrific Merry Christmas red border sticker from Sticker Store . Now this has to be one of my favourites.  I just love this poinsettia image that I cut from the 3D Paper Tole Mini Christmas booklet.  Then as I layered it up it was just prettier.  For the card I started with a blank white pre-scored card, layer of green and red Bazzill card .  Then another terrific laser cut card front.  I have used a metallic gold pen to create the faux stitching on this card and added a red star brad to the top.   Lucky last.  This card I started with a blank pre-scored black card . ...

Morning everyone, a little bit chilly again this morning.  This is only put on a jacket over tshirt and shorts chilly but will be another perfect clear day. So love living here at this time of year. :-) Yes, more christmas cards.....hang in there as after today I only have another three to show you.  I will happily play with other papers and images next week. Todays card was inspired by one of the entries in our current Unstampabelles challenge which is all about Wheels and the Technique theme is Spirelli.  The very clever Laura used a 'pinwheel' on her card which I though was a clever take on the theme.  She also had a spinning front.   Click here to see . So I started my card with a blank pre-scored square white card .  Then a layer of this lovely red Bazzill Card and this fun christmas paper from Print Blocks.  I then used my Spellbinder dies to cut the circle from the front of the card and then two smaller scalloped edged circles.   I use...

Finally I had a chance to play with one of these lovely  laser cut and stitching card fronts .  These are new to  Blue Edge Crafts  and there are so many designs to choose from. So I started with a  blank white pre-scored card .  Then a layer of SU Poppy Parade which I have rounded the corners to match the laser cut card front.  I added a strip of green bazzill card to the top of the card front and some gold paper behind the bauble.  I used my fine black pen to create the faux stitching....thanks so much  Kaye  for this idea.  'Noel' is a rub-on.  I ran the card front through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I then added a 3D paper tole that I have cut out and layered up from the  Mini 3D Paper Tole Christmas Booklet .  Oh, and I added some bling. Hi everyone, Flashback Friday has a new challenge happening.  They want us to show the very first gift card holder that you posted.  Remember that you have to repost the image not just link to the original post.  Well I went in search and I am sure I made a card with a holder in the centre for one of my nephews but for the life of me I can't find it.  So these gift card holders are the only ones I can find on my blog from last Christmas - December 2010 see original post here.
