Morning everyone, a little bit chilly again this morning. This is only put on a jacket over tshirt and shorts chilly but will be another perfect clear day. So love living here at this time of year. :-)
Yes, more christmas cards.....hang in there as after today I only have another three to show you. I will happily play with other papers and images next week.
Todays card was inspired by one of the entries in our current Unstampabelles challenge which is all about Wheels and the Technique theme is Spirelli. The very clever Laura used a 'pinwheel' on her card which I though was a clever take on the theme. She also had a spinning front. Click here to see.
So I started my card with a blank pre-scored square white card. Then a layer of this lovely red Bazzill Card and this fun christmas paper from Print Blocks. I then used my Spellbinder dies to cut the circle from the front of the card and then two smaller scalloped edged circles. I used red cotton thread to create the Spirelli effect around the edge of the circle. Then attached the bottom and top connecting threads to the rear before covering with a matching scalloped edged circle. I then attached this wonderful 3D Paper Tole Santa image to the spinning circle and finished with some little tiny stars which are leftovers for a sticker sheet. To the bottom of the card I added a cheery red Merry Christmas sticker.
Here I started with red Bazzill for my base card and then a layer of green Bazzill card. Next I have used another of the wonderful laser cut card fronts. I have added a small gold star to the centre of each snowflake. Then I added this beautiful lantern 3D Paper Tole image to finish the card of. Sounds so easy but this card would have taken at least an hour from start to finish.
Must dash as our little dog needs a walk before taking him to the vets to have a lump removed on the back of his neck. Fingers crossed it is nothing serious.
Have a wonderful day everyone and thanks for popping by and spending a little of your time here.
Ooh these are lovely! Christmas cards already...you are well in front!

What a neat spinning santa card! I like the lantern oval frame too!
ReplyDeleteI wish your dog luck! My dog had the same thing a few years ago. He looked so funny for a long time afterwards because they had to shave that area and it took awhile to grow back. The lump wasn't cancer or anything but it was tangled up with alot alot of stuff blood related so it was an intense surgery and he was cut from one side to the other and had TONS of staples....which they didn't expect going into the surgery. BUT the good news is all was taken care of and he recovered quickly! :)
Gosh Merry that twirling Santa looks brilliant and just love that second card, that frame around the candle really helps to show it's beauty off.

Both fabulous cards Merry. I really love the spinning Santa (you are so clever!) and love the poinsettia image. It may have taken ages to put together but it was so worth it - so stunning!! The snowflake laser cut border looks great and frames the image so perfectly. I will HAVE to get my hot little hands on one of these - thanks for the link to where you bought it - I'm off to check it out.
