Craftmad Christmas All Year Round Sketch #5

I have now caught up on the Christmas sketches over at Craftmad.  I really like the fresh colours on this card.  It was the piece of glitter paper that caught my eye and decided what colours I should use to colour the little fairy using my copic pens.  I layered everything up and ran the bauble and square card stock through a Christmas embossing folder I have.

Another cute fairy image which I have coloured again with my copic pens.  A lot of fine work.  It doesn't show in the photo but the fairy wings and star have been coloured with my Stella by Wink pens and have a lovely sparkle to them.  After using glitter paper on my first card I had to find some more this card.  So more layering up and finishing off with embellishments from my stash.

A manly style of Christmas card.  I had already coloured this poinsettia image with my copic pens finished it off with a paper poinsettia I received from my Secret Santa last Christmas.  I found all these wonderful Christmas paper in my stash, layered them up and pin pricked around all the edges.  The square I created with rows of star sticker borders from the Sticker Store.

Christmas card running total = 16.  Yay!

Carftmad May Swap - Polka Dots

Hi everyone, our swap theme over at Craftmad for May was Polka Dots.  I had so much fun putting these cards together.  Of course, I used Pinterest for inspiration and cards to case. Click this link to see my inspiration for this card.  I am not quite sure where the flower image is from as I had it printed three times in my stash ready for colouring.  Thought it was a digital stamp I had but can't seem to find it.  I coloured the image with my copic pens, cut out the flowers to create the different layers.  Die cut the leaves and the word Thanks.  Silly me was looking for a tiny piece of orange card stock for 'Thanks' that would match the flower.  After about five minutes of searching I suddenly thought 'cut it in white and colour with the same coloured copic pen'. Duh!

I love this card, it just makes me smile.  This is the card I spied on Pinterest.  I used my Penny Black stamp "Thorny Affair".  Coloured him with my copic pens and cut off the holly leaves that he normally carries.  I pin pricked around the edge of the card front then stitched through the holes.  Free hand cut the balloon shape and attached the string.  Finished with work stickers from 'The Sticker Store'.

This for passing on by, wishing you a fantastic day.

Craftmad Christmas Card Sketch #4

As you can see from the photo it is a little dark here today as we have rain that has set in.  Great time to catch up on the Craftmad Christmas Card Sketches.  I have now finished my three cards using the April card sketch which is shown at the end of my post here.  If you would like to see everyone elses take on this sketch please visit out Pinterest board here.

I found three white pre-folded cards for the base of my cards.  Then went through my Christmas papers and found some Stampin Up papers I bought a couple of years ago.  Teamed them with a variety of stickers from my stash.  Tadah! a Christmas card has emerged.

This is my favourite of all three.  I have had these foil bird stickers for a while and it's nice to put them to good use.

This one I am having a love hate relationship with it.  I think it depends on the angle I look at it whether I like it or not.

Running total - 13 Christmas cards completed. :-)

Happy Birthday - Dogs

I made this card for my Sister-in-Law's birthday back in April.  She has two very cute miniature poodle type dogs which are the loves of her life.  Although, none of these dogs look like hers I thought she would appreciate the images.  I spied a cat card here on Pinterest which inspired me to make this card.  I remembered I had a sheet of black dog stickers from The Sticker Store that would be perfect.  I initially cut out 9 even white squares and attached them to the black pre-folded card.  Of course the squares looked wonky so then I added thin strips of black along all the joins.  Why didn't I think to just attach a square of white card stock first off then the grid of black thin strips…..guess you live and learn.  Next I attached all these fun dog stickers with 3D Foam tape to raise them up a little.  I made the little paw print from leftover pieces of stickers.  Done.

Wishing you a wonderful day.

Blurry Cat

Sorry the photo is a little blurry…..I was in a hurry to get the photo, envelope the card to mail off on the way to work so that it made it in time for my Sister-in-Law's birthday last Sunday.

I couldn't resist the blog post title name either as I really enjoy listening to that new song Blurryface by Twenty One Pilots, my husband thinks I'm weird.  :-)  Oops, have now discovered the song is actually call 'Stressed Out'.

My SIL adores cats and has a couple of her own.  I am enjoying collages and street graffiti so when I saw a card like this via Pinterest I thought I had to give it a go.  To start I found some cat information on the internet and printed that out then cut that into strips.  I then roughly cut out the black oval of card stock and hand drew with pencil a cat image.  I then filled the image with the strips of the printed paper.  Attached a couple of eyes, created a collar from paper scraps and a sticker.  Finished with a sticker border.  I know the result of the card is a little naive but I so enjoyed the process and always find it very relaxing attaching all the strips.

Thanks for passing on by.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mum's out there.  Hope you receive a little acknowledgement somewhere throughout the day.  A simple 'hello phone call' will do me. :-)

This is the card I made for my Mother-in-Law using the Craftmad May Sketch.  You can see what other people have created with the sketch here on our Craftmad Sketch Pinterest Board.

I decided to use the image that I coloured with copics on my Daintree weekend away here. I teamed the image with some of my Graphic 45 papers.  The sentiment is computer generated, I then ran the yellow card stock through my new embossing folder.  Finished with some gel bling.

This photo shows my MIL card and card for my Mum….blogged here.

Happy 18th Birthday Nephew

I found a wonderful tutorial for this card by Emily Pitts here.  Perfect for my nephews 18th birthday.  I had intended on sending him a Dan Murphy gift card but time ran out and he scored an iTunes gift card.  Although, I have since been told that he does not use iTunes and his younger sister scores these gift cards.  I am thinking I will send her (turning 15yo in July, I should have my act together by then) a Dan Murphy gift card so that her brother can use it. :-)  I enjoyed putting this card together and hope it was manly enough.

This photo shows where the gift card sits….modelled by my Spotlight members card. :-)

Thanks for passing on by.
