More Chocolate Box Cards

Morning everyone,  it is a beautiful Tuesday.  The sun is out and sky is blue, the air still slightly cool and I have walked the dog.   So a good start.  Monday was a wipe out as I was just catching up from my hectic weekend.  My son and I flew to Brisbane for the day.......two hours of flying.  Left 6am this end and then left Brisbane at 6pm that end.  All to check out a college that would be perfect to further his education in the Digital Filming industry.   It was so nice to check out where he could possibly be attending next year and to check out the area it is in.   Of course we checked out a couple of shops in the city too.   Now, however, it is working out finances to see if it is at all possible.

Now it's time to show off some more of my Chocolate Box Cards.  I really did enjoy making these.   You will find the tutorial by Kaye over here at Craftmad.

The first card I started with some SU Tangerine Tango, cut and folded to the instructions.   The window I created by cutting two oval Spellbinders then adding acetate.  I found this lovely butterfly paper that was a magazine giveway.  Teamed it with white paper flowers and orange flowers that I had crocheted and a gold brad.  The tag is white card that I have rounded the corners and run through my Bloom Dots embossing folder.  Added this lovely orange bias binding (from Laura) and added the fantastic stamped butterfly (from Alicia).  Finished with the sticker sentiment and of course filled it with some yummy chocolates.

This pink version I have used some lovely Bazzill Card.  The patterned paper is Rosewillow Garden Pink.  I so love the colours and the shapes of the flowers.  I teamed this up with mint green paper flowers, small pink punched retro flowers and a pink brad.  The tag is a lighter pink card which I ran through my 'Victoria' embossing folder.  Finished with the sticker sentiment and more yummy chocolates.

I would like to enter these into the following challenges:

Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Challenge - Sketch and Colur - DT Card

Hi everyone, well that was a busy day for me.
Now the weekend is almost upon us.  I am busy all day Saturday but hoping to catch up on a weeks worth of everyone's postings on Sunday. :-)

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Cardmadfairy Digi Days.
This time the challenge is to use the sketch and two colours posted above.
Our sponsor this fortnight is:

For my card I started with these lovely shade of purple Bazzill Card then a layer of the worded Vellum.  Which is very apt for us at the moment as it is cold..... 10C this morning.  Mind you it does heat up to a lovely and warm 26C.  I attached the vellum with these wonderful square brads.  Then used layered up Stampin Up Night of Navy and Taken with Teal.  The teal card I ran through my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I cut three Taken With Teal circles with my Spellbinders.   The oval I cut with my newest Spellbinder, my first chance to use it.  The digi image is from Cardmadfairy called 'Love Mug'.  I have coloured it with my Copic pens and then gone over the heart with Glossy Accents.

Now it's your turn.  I can't wait to see what everyone does with this sketch and colours.

Remember you need to use a digital stamp to enter and while we would love
for you to use a Cardmadfairy image it is not necessary for your entry.
However if you use one of our digi stamps you may enter as often as you like,
but if your entry uses a digi from another source you are limited to only one entry per person.

(All Cardmadfairy Digi Stamps can be found here, there are some newly released designs just added.)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Chocolate Box Card

Hi everyone, Thursday is here and a tad chilly it is.  I figure about 11C but it won't stay like that for long.
Today I am off to sell my cards at my friend Biggest Morning Tea to help fundraise to fight cancer.
I wanted to have a couple of special/different cards in my stash so it was a good time to try out the Chocolate Box Card.  Kaye has shared a tutorial on this card over at Craftmad.
I must say it is surprisingly easy and fun to decorate.
I have just added pearl beads to mine for the photo as I will be buying chocolates this morning.
Then I will have photos of some other cards I made to share with you.

I started with Stampin Up Tangerine Tango and cut and folded as Kaye said.
I finally got to use this wonderful handmade paper with leaves pressed into it to decorate the front section of the card.  I punched our four retro flowers from the SU Tangerine Tango and added a flower rub-on to the centre of each and then a browny yellow bling.  The tag I created from corrugated cream card which I ran through my Victoria embossing folder.  Rounded the corners and added the gold sticker sentiment.

Chrysanthemum

This Chrysanthemum is from the Build A Blossom sheet from La Pashe.  I saw these flowers over at Jak Heath's blog and thought that my Mum would love them too.  So I bought some for her birthday.  Yes, she thought they were wonderful and set to work cutting them all out.  Admired the flowers she had never seen before like Clematis.  Then my terrific Mum shared some of the flowers with me. :-)

I folded the white card in half to create the base card and added the three bling in top and bottom corner which is a little hard to see in the photo.   The rest is all Mum..... she used her spellbinder to cut a scalloped edged oval which she has run through the cuttlebug with the Bloom Dots folder.  Then assembled the flower and rounded all the leaves with an embossing tool.  Added a bling to the centre and tied on a green bow to the tag.  The little butterfly started life as a silver glitter butterfly until Mum attacked it with some special pens to colour stickers.  It is so perfect sitting on top of the flower.
The remainder of the flowers I have to construct.....so will show them to you soon.

Must dash.... have a full day today.  Hope everyone has a good one.
Oh just have to say ...... Go the Maroon's!!!!

Gift Cards from Scraps

Hi everyone, today I have a few gift cards that my daughter and I made.
I grabbed my paper scrap container, a heap of white cardstock and my sticker folder.  We moved out to the family room where we had some creative fun.  The white cardstock became the base for all our gift cards and then we used only the papers that were in my scrap box to create the gift card.  It was a lot of fun putting them altogether and a nice way to finally use most of my scrap papers.
I now plan on doing this regularly as I am always in search of a little thank you card or notecard when sending out my swaps and so forth in the mail.
It was also fun to create these gift cards with no plans in mind.

Well have a wonderful Tuesday everyone.  The sun is shining here, so who knows what today will bring.

In the Kitchen

Last week of May is already here.....unbelievable!

This card I made is another card that I made as DT card for a challenge at Stamping Vacation.
Sadly, Denise has had to put a hold on all these challenges due to family issues.
Thinking of you Denise and I hope all is well quickly.

Well this was for a Sticky Situation challenge where Denise had asked to use stickers relating to the Kitchen.  I had a look through my collection and found no cooking utensils etc. but figure there is always food in the kitchen.  So dug out all my cake stickers.

The card started with Stampin Up Baja Breeze and this terrific Stampin Up patterned paper.
I received this wonderful die cut table and chair from someone over time....
I added SU Baja Breeze card to the chair and table top.  Then layered up the table with some yummy food, all are stickers from different sheets.  I added the Happy Birthday sticker.  Then created the little 'Mum's Kitchen' sign on the computer and printed it out.  Backed it with brown card and attached a little piece of silver wire with the tiniest piece of raffia.  Finished the card with three bling.

Wishing you all a happy Monday and thanks so much visiting my blog. :-)

Craftmad Create and Chat night on tonight - 20th May

This is on right this very moment. Eight of us having a chat.

I have had someone let me know that they tried to register but hadn't had an acceptance come through yet.
If this has happened to you. Please email me your username and I will forward it on so they can action it.
They just get so much spam it is hard to get through to the genuine people.

Just a reminder that Kaye and Kerry will be in the Craftmad Chatroom tonight (7pm QLD time...my time) to show you how to make these two acetate cards and a shaker card.

Mud Puddles

I made this card for a Stamping Vacation challenge but sadly Denise has had to put all challenges on hold due to family circumstances.  She is right - family always comes first.

The challenge was to be all about 'Mud Puddles'.   We have had a few of those this year.
I remembered I had this wonderful image in my collection which I have never used.  It is from Arthur's Clipart.  I coloured it with my Copic pens and happy now that I have two shades of the same colour so I can do some shading.  Although I will have to learn how people leave those white areas in the appropriate places and so forth.  When I printed out the image I added this great quote with it.
To create the card I started with a sketch challenge for Mojo Monday but I am missing a square so can't enter the challenge but thankful for the help.  I used Java Bazzill card then a layer of SU patterned paper and a layer of red Bazzill card.  Along the bottom I added a strip of SU card.  Dug out my Just Rite stampers for the Happy Birthday sentiment.  Used my spellbinder circle and scalloped edged circles to cut the sentiment out.  Finished with some bling.

Twisted Easel Card

Thursday is here.....I have a twisted Easel card to share with you today.  I have wanted to try one of these for a little while.  Perfect opportunity came this month for the Craftmad Swap (see all the other Easel cards here) ....we have two swap two easel cards.
So I dug out my Blossom Bazzill for the base card.  This actually starts as a normal square card and then you fold the front of the card diagonally to create the twist, then decorate.  I added a lovely gold border sticker and used my versa mark ink to stamp little cupcakes on half of the front of the card.  On the other half I added a layer of Java Bazzill and this fun Sweetiepie Cupcake Paper.  My friend, Helen, kindly lent me her oval Spellbinder so I put it to use on this card.  I cut two ovals...one Java Bazzill and one in white with the image.  Layered them up and added the Happy Birthday sticker.  I won this lovely cupcake image a little while ago it is from Limited Runs Digi's.  I coloured it with my Copic Pens....the colours were a little brighter than the paper so I went over all the colours with my light grey Copic Pen...perfect.  Added a touch of Kindy Glitz to the icing.

The inside I have just added the strip of Java Bazzill card and Sweetiepie Cupcake paper with a flower made from different paper flowers.  This strip is needed to hold the Easel in place.

Collie Paper Tole

Hi everyone, middle of the week already.  Thanks to the weather being showery and cloudy yesterday I managed to get some of my DT cards done which I will show you at the end of the week.  Nice to be ahead for a change instead of panicking in the last days.

Yes, I have another paper tole card for you today.  I really am having fun with these...they are fun to construct.  They also give me a chance to use some sketch layouts around the place.
This card I started with the Craftmad April Sketch Challenge set by Kaye. You can see other Craftmad member fantastic creations using this sketch here.
The base card is SU Real Rust then a lovely piece of paper from Corry.  I used my sewing maching to stitch around the edges.  Then used a Spellbinder oval to cut out an oval from a page of a book which I rubbed over with SU River Rock ink.  I traced around the edge of the Spellbinder die onto so SU River Rock card and used my fancy edged scissors to cut an oval for the background of the printed oval.  Attached the ribbon and this wonderful Collie Dog paper tole from Blue Edge Crafts.  That was to be the end of my card but I thought it looked a little bare.  So I grabbed my black fine tip pen and did some doodling....so relaxing, highlighted with some gold pen.  Then finished the card with three bling.  Oh and a rub-on 'Friend' sentiment.

I just have share these cards that my kids received earlier this week.  A very close friend likes to send them some little trinkets but never seems to make their birthdays, Christmas or Easter.  So she just combines the whole lot and we enjoy the wonderful little surprises she comes up with.
This lovely lady is very artsy and is one of those people that could sketch anything I think.  She is not a cardmaker ....but imagine if she did and had the supplies.  This is what she came up with by just cutting from magazines and cheap stickers.

Have a wonderful day everyone and I will catch up with you all again tomorrow.

Happy Birthday - Fairy - Paper Tole

Morning everyone, it's actually overcast and showery today which is really nice for the gardens as they are a little thirsty.  Plus means that I will just have to stay inside and craft. ;-)

Today I have birthday card I made for another friend over at Craftmad.
I started with a white base card and added this lovely paisley design paper that I received from the lovely Gail.  I layered up purple and white card stock....and pin pricked a design around the edge.   Added this cute little paper tole fairy that I received in a magazine giveaway.  Found this little dragonfly punched from paper in my collection.   Also a lovely dragonfly charm which I attached with embroidery floss.
Finished with the silver Happy Birthday sticker from Sticker Store.

The Craftmad Create and Chat night is on again this Friday night starting at 7pm Queensland time.

Skier Paper Tole

Hi everyone, glad you had the time to visit at the start of this new week.
I am feeling slightly more organised so far.....ironing is done, craft desk is tidy again, Pay it Forward envelopes are being mailed today.  :-)

I have a few more 3D paper tole cards to share with you this week.

This card I started with corrugated metallic grey base card.  Then a strip of this star patterned paper and another strip of white paper which I ran through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots folder.
I used a silver rub on sentiment which says " Health Wealth and  Happiness.  Sorry the photo does not show this to well.  I added this wonderful skier 3D Paper Tole from Blue Edge Crafts.  He looks like he is flying through the air.

Someone, (I think Monica) asked what tole meant.  I have never really known what the name meant....just know the craft as 'paper tole'.  So I went in search and found an explanation here that you may like to read.
Thanks for the question....now I am a little wiser.

Happy Birthday Rose Paper Tole

Edit......it appears with the blogger hic-cup last week this post reverted to a scheduled post that then never posted.  So here it is again.  I realise that some of you had already commented on this post but looks they are disappeared.

Hi everyone, an early start for me today.  Son and I are heading out as soon as the sun is up and heading into town for his final driving lesson which is then followed by his driving test.  So by 9.30am tomorrow we will find out if he has his red 'Ps'. (Provisional Licence).  Part of me is hoping he does and he can drive himself and part of me is hoping he doesn't because I don't want him driving himself.  lol.

Anyways, this card I made for a friend over at Craftmad who celebrated her birthday last week.
I started with pink Bazzill card then a layer of this lovely vellum with words all about 'Creative, Passion'.  I attached the vellum with with the square silver brads in each corner.  Then added the silver Happy Birthday sticker sentiment to the right corner.
The top is a lovely angled pyramid 3d paper tole that has been die cut.

Shopping Our Stash Challenge

I spied this new challenge blog on Kelly's blog and just happened to have the photo they were looking for. :-)

The blog is called Shopping our Stash and their first challenge is to show a photo of your crafting area.  This is what mine has looked like for the past month and was getting messier daily.  If I found time to create I just did not have time to clear up.  However, yesterday, I attacked it and half of this has been cleared away.  Yay!!!  I find it very hard to work in messy.

Tilda Thank You

Well another day just flew by.  I really don't know what happened yesterday (Tuesday).  I wrote a list of things to do, took the kids to school, came home hung out the two loads of washing and washed the breakfast dishes.  Sat down to do a post....instead spoke to my sister and that was the start of my day that did not go according to plan.
However, I did have a  very nice day catching up with friends but I did not achieve anything on my list.
Maybe Wednesday. lol.

Anyways, I do have a card to share with you.  I coloured this Tilda with my Copics when I received my first 14.  Finally got to add her to this lovely patterned paper that came from a magazine giveaway.  I have her sitting on a strip of Purple Bazzill which I have added pink bling to.  I hope you like the card and thanks for visiting, your comments really make my day.

Mother's Day Circle Album

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I did.  A relaxing Mother's Day yesterday where the family spoilt me by cooking meals and giving me chocolates, stickers and pens.
I also got to craft most of the day away.  Which was good as I was finishing this Circle Album (instructions here) for my Mum.   I started it a couple of weeks ago during a Create and Chat night with Kaye over at Craftmad.
I had the base of it all done but just hadn't found the time to embellish it at all.
This is the front of the card and it is all folded up.  I have used the lovely new Blue Edge papers for this album.
I have used Bazzill card for the album the front is covered with Rosewillow Pink Squares patterned paper.  I have edged each section with black border stickers from Sticker Store.  I found this terrific definition for a Mother which I changed to 'Mum' as that is what I call her and also added her name at that bottom.  Cut this out with my Spellbinder circle then cut out from the smaller version of this patterned paper a scalloped edged circle to surround the circle topper.  Layered up some paper flowers and added a centre bling.  I attached the lovely checked black and white ribbon with a flower split pin which I also added a centre bling.

This section of the album I have used Java Bazzill and Rosewillow Butterfly patterned paper.
I have used a sticker sentiment on each of these. I received these from my friend Stacie....such perfect timing.

This sentiment says.... "Speak to the earth and it shall teach thee" JOB 12:8

The butterfly image is from Cardmadfairy  and I have coloured them with my new Copic pens.  Great fun having more colours to choose from but of course I am discovering I still haven't got the right ones. lol.  I need more.....

This section I have used Vanilla Bazzill covered with Rosewillow Cream Fern patterned paper.

On the bottom of every section have attached a flower made up from retro punched flowers, a paper flower and some bling.  I have also added these wonderful butterfly sticker which I coloured with my new markers that are meant for colouring stickers.  Both of these items are a present from my daughter yesterday on Mother's Day.  :-)

This section I have used Adobe Bazzill covered with Rosewillow Garden Green patterned paper.

Here I have used Pollen Bazzill covered with Rosewillow Cream Fern patterned paper.

This is the view looking down on to the circle album when it is open.

Flashback Friday 11.0

The new Flashback Friday 11.0 challenge has just been announced.  They are asking you to repost your first ever wedding card that you blogged about. I was thinking the three I had created in the last couple of weeks were the only wedding cards I had done.
Happily I found this lovely wedding card way back in August 2009...click here to see original post.

I used a Bazzil Bling Card for the base card. Rose patterned vellum along the bottom with a 'Congratulations' sticker greeting and a wavy clear glitter sticker border along the top edge of the vellum. For the topper I used my first ever inchie which I created for the Black and White theme (I originally posted here) over at Craftmad. I covered the inchie in a piece of sheer material which has gold flecks through it. Layered in onto Gold jakpaper and rose patterned vellum.

Craftmad Create and Chat night on tonight

As I post this there are 9 of us chatting away in the Craftmad chatroom.  Come and join in.  It is 7.37pm Queensland Time.  We are creating a Mother's Day Card and a Chocolate box with the help of Kerry and Kaye.  Actually, I am just chatting...wasn't organised to get my craft gear together...everyone else was good though.  So log in to Craftmad and then click on Chat in the top toolbar and join us.  www.craftmad.com.au

Soccer Card

Well what a day Thursday was.  I did start this post below Thursday morning but just did not get back to post it.  Nothing major happened just lots of little real life normal things all on the same day. :-)
Hoping your Friday is a good one and that you have a great weekend.
I will be back Monday.
Happy Mother's Day to all you Mum's for Sunday.

Hi, seem to be having a sporting theme at the moment and a male theme.
This card I started with a white base card which I have covered with this wonderful SU patterned paper that I won last year.  The stripey stripe is from a matching sheet.  I added a rub-on 'For You'.  Then finished with this great soccer 3D Paper Tole image.  Now looking at this photo I should have taken it on more of an angle so you could see the layers.  This topper has about four layers adhered together with silicone glue.
The topper is from a Studiolight Sports Paper Tole Sheet from Blue Edge Crafts and yes, it was precut so I just had to push the pieces out and then layer them up. :-)

Happy Birthday Golf Card

Morning everyone, wonderful Wednesday is here.
Yes, the weather is beautiful here again....a hint of coolness and blue skies.
I was even up this morning walking the dog and saw the sunrise behind Walsh's Pyramid such a pretty sight.

Today I have a paper tole card for you.  I started with some blue card for the base card.  Then ran the grey card through my Happy Birthday embossing folder and added a strip of textured red card.  This is another wonderful golf image from a Studiolight Sports Paper Tole sheet that is precut so you just need to push out the different layers.  Makes 3D paper tole so much easier.  I then used dots of silicone glue to raise each layer.

I would like to enter into the following challenges:

(My tip....use silicone glue for paper tole instead of 3d foam tape.  Cheaper and can get the size between layering you want)

Stamping Vacation - When I Grow Up Challenge - Clockmakers

Hi again everyone, I am back with my Design Team card for Stamping Vacations - When I Grow Up Challenge - Clockmakers.

You have until the 3rd June to enter this challenge and to be in the running for a $25.00 gift certificate to store of the winners choice.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I had a quick look through all my collects and could not see anything related to a clock.  So, I decided that I would be the clockmaker.  :-)

I started a rectangle card cut from some Fawn Bazzill card.  I then cut the top two corners off to form the clock shape.  I cut a wavy edge on two small pieces of card and added them to the top of the clock shape.  I adorned them with these lovely purple bling flowers and a wooden heart which I covered in patterned paper.  The clock face is created with this lovely spotty Kaisercraft paper and number stickers.  I cut two a strip of wavy edged black card to create the hands for the clock and added black triangles to the ends.  I then dangled a little purple heart underneath the clock.  The sentiment I printed off the computer.

So come on over to Stamping Vacation and check out the daily challenges.
A different challenge every day of the month.

Thanks Card and goodies from Stacie

Morning everyone,  it is a beautiful Tuesday here....sunshine with a lovely cool breeze.  The house again is mine all mine as the long weekend is finished.  No more long weekends now until June. :-)

This card I have created using a cute image that I received from the wonderful Stacie over at All Things Crafty.  She is so lovely and sent me the wonderful collection of goodies below for my birthday.  Last week I also received my Copic Pen order from Bizzy Bec thanks to my terrific friends here in Cairns...yes, another birthday present.  I was so spoilt last month.

So I put the two gifts together and created this card.
I started with some lovely Pansy Bazzill card, then a layer of SU Taken with Teal, next is this beautiful patterned paper from a magazine giveaway.  I used my new copics on the image Rosie with Bird.  It was nice to have the colours to match with the paper.  I have seen on blogs where people use their copics to colour the paper flowers to match what they have coloured.  So I decided to have a go and added a star sticker to the centre of each flower.

Wishing you all a fantastic day and thanks for taking the time to come and visit my blog.
I appreciate all your lovely comments.
I will be back in a few hours with my Design Team card for Stamping Vacations ... When I Grow Up Challenge......think clockmaker.
