Lace, Glitter, Embossing

Morning everyone on this gloomy Thursday here in Gordonvale.  Heard a few drops of rain earlier this morning.   Hope we get a little more to green up the grass.

Today my card was one of the two cards I sent to my Craftmad partner Kerry for our July Swap.  We had to send two cards choosing a row from a tic-tac-toe grid.  I chose to do Lace, Glitter and Embossing.

I started with a black base card.  I embossed this lovely purple metallic card with my Victoria folder.  The other half of the card I covered with this lovely brown glitter paper.  My lace was then added down the centre of the card.   This lovely tag I received from the wonderful Stacie and she had stamped the Hydrangea on it for me.  I coloured the flower head with my Copic Markers.  Then the stem and leaves with my Aquamarkers.  Because I went out of the line on one leaf I decided to go around all the green edges and give them a blurred look....hopefully a little like they have been watercolour painted.  I then went around the edge of the tag with my Timber Brown ink pad.  Found these two great rub-on's to finish it all off.    I will share my other card tomorrow. :-)

Since I have mentioned Craftmad I would like to give you a few links to the exciting things happening over that way.

The groups are now open here for Craftmad members (free to signup) to join in the August swaps for sewing and cards.   Partners will be listed in the Forum section under Craft Swaps on Monday, 8th August.

Some other links you may want to check out. Kaye is super organised again with a couple of sketches for inspiration. You will find the card sketch here and the scrapbook page sketch here. Be sure to click on these links to see Kaye's wonderful interpretation of these sketches.

Kerry and Kaye are very busy at the moment as they have another Create and Chat night organised for Friday, 12th August. Keep an eye on this link to find out more.

T
hey have also been busy behind the scenes organising a Girls Night In for the 21st October. Be sure to read all about it as there are things happening in the lead up to this night. Something starts today.....2nd August. You know the saying..."You have to be in it to win it".

Well I think that is all the important stuff. Have a fun day now.

A couple of challenges I would like to enter:

We finally got some rain but it ended up being a pretty big thunderstorm! Took down some limbs/trees and knocked some of the garden over! Geesh!
