Happy Birthday Helen

So is everyone singing the song?  This one here.  :-)

Yes, my very good friend Helen had her birthday on Monday.  Helen is a wonderful card maker too and we often spend time with our friend Ruth who does Stampin Up.  I have been collecting a stash of Stampin Up items that I just hadn't had time to play with.  So I thought this was the card to play on.

The papers and card are Stampin Up.  The dies are Spellbinders, the corners are rub-ons. You can't really see in the photo but I have run the patterned paper through an embossing paper so that the edges are all raised dots and the centre oval is flat.  Sticker sentiment is from Sticker Store….I would say my favourite because of the size.

The flower I had fun creating as it was my first time using the Crepe Filter Paper.  I cut 14 Spellbinder Scalloped Edged Circles in varying sizes.  Then I dug out my Silver Foil Smooch Spritz that I had never used and sprayed all the circles.  Next I found my inkspots and pulled out Perfect Plum.  I used water and a brush to wet the circles and then rubbed over the inkspot.  Then I crushed all the circles up and then unfurled them layered them up and added a bling brad to the centre.  I really liked how the crepe paper with all the moisture didn't even look like tearing.

I must say I enjoyed logging in this morning and reading everyone's lovely comments they left overnight.  Gave me a smile to start my day.  Thanks.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend - my plans all involve Christmas some how i.e. Christmas cards, Christmas decorations, Christmas presents etc.  See you Monday.
