Happy Birthday Stacie
I made this card for my friend Stacie over at All Things Crafty for her birthday last week.
I started with a blank white card and some lovely Stampin Up Pumpkin Pie. I am not normally an orange person but I do like the shade of this orange. Next is a layer of Stampin Up paper I received in a prize pack. I added a strip of embossed pumpkin pie...embossed with Swiss Dots. This fantastic image I coloured with my copic pens. This image is from a wonderful collection of Digi Images offered for sale to raise funds for Lyndell who is fighting cancer for the second time. You can read more about this fundraiser here at Cheryl's who is doing a fantastic job organising everything.

Chocolate Box Cards
Hi all, another day......I wonder what it will bring.
Well I have some chocolate box cards to share with you today. You can find the instructions to these cards here at Craftmad. I have adjusted theses so that it is a card on the side rather than the tag.
This card I made to sell on my stall at the markets. I love the idea of a card and present all in one.
I started with Stampin Up Very Vanilla card then used Blue Edge Combo papers. Aren't those thongs so cute. Next I coloured up this fun image from Dawn Moore (Going Swimming) which I think suits the papers so well. I coloured her with my Copic pens. Finished with a Happy Birthday sticker and a row of bling.
I would like to enter into the following challenges:
I made this Chocolate Card box especially for a friend who has just recently had a hysterectomy and had suffered a couple of set backs after the operation. However, now she is one the road to recovery and so looking forward to getting out of the house.
This card I started with Stampin Up River Rock and then topped with Blue Edge Combo papers from the Rosewillow design. I used this wonderful image from Cardmadfairy. I think it is one of my favourites to colour. I used my Copic pens. Then finished with a sticker sentiment and flowers.

Craftmad August Swap - Black and White
Last week ended up being such a blur....just random things of real life getting in the way of me coming in here to post and catch up on everyones creations. I have now had the chance to visit everyone and you have all been very busy and inspiring.
Today, I have the second of my swap cards for the August Craftmad Swap - Black and White. I really love how this turned out. I started with a black base card and used the new Blue Edge Combo papers. I ran some white card through my Swiss dots folder for the smaller section of the card. Added this wonderful black and white gingham ribbon. Used a computer generated sentiment and Stampin Up punches. The tab holding it all closed is a flower from a Stampin up set and I used my Circle Spellbinders. Finished with one terrific sticker corner.
We are currently choosing our theme for the September Card and Sewing Swaps.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Craftmad August Swap - Black and White
Hi everyone, today I am sharing one of my Black and White cards I have done for the Craftmad August swap. Initially, I thought this would be pretty easy but was surprised at how difficult it was to use just two colours.
This card I started with a blank black card base then a layer of white which I doodled around the edge with my fine tip black pen creating the chequered border. I then inked up this lovely fern stamp from a Stampin Up set. Added some ric-rac and black twine along the bottom of the card. I then used these fantastic bird stickers....one of my favourites. I attached the stickers to white paper and cut around them and then attached to the card. I finished the card by adding some Kindy Glitz to the fern leaves which seems to have given them a pinkish tinge although it is a white or clear glitter.
Must dash and walk the dog....catch up with everyone again tomorrow with my second black and white card. Have a great day and thanks for taking the time to visit. :-)

Wheels Card and Prize Win
Hi everyone, I made a very quick card yesterday so that I could remind you all about our 'Wheels' challenge over at Unstampabelles. You have until Friday 2nd September to enter and be in running to win the wonderful Kaszazz prize from Kelly.
I started this card with a blank white card then a layer of blue card. Found this fantastic patterned paper with the dashed line that reminded me of a road. Next I raided my sticker collection and found these cute little cars and plane. To finish I used a rub-on sentiment. Ta dah! a card with wheels. See how easy it is to enter. :-)
I would like to enter this card into the following chalelnges.
How lucky am I. I received this beautiful prize pack from Karen B over at Being Karen. Karen had a small comp and you had to guess the title of a book. I guessed right......Seven Little Australians. Can't say I ever read the book but watched the show on TV when growing up. Loved it. See the cute little apples in the photo, Karen has made them herself from felt. I just love all the red and the pattern pieces. Very inspiring but then I just like looking at the collection together so it may just sit my desk for a while and I will admire.
Have a great day everyone......my plan is to attack some more of our bamboo. We are on skip two.
Oh, one last thing I would like to say Hi! to Carolyn and Vince....thanks for following me.

I'm back....80th Birthday card and Market Stall
Morning everyone, how nice it is to be able to visit blogland again. Yesterday, I spent recovering from being on the stall all day on Saturday also caught up on a weeks worth of blog posts around the world.
Today I would like to share with you this card I made for Sister Carmel who was part of my life in Grade 5. As you can see she turned 80 just recently. My Mum asked if myself and friends (5 of us) would give a card with a couple of words in there for her. I certainly enjoyed catching up with my friends and bringing back such good memories.
I decided to do a joy fold card. Started with purple Bazzill card and then a layer of green bazzill card which I ran through my Victoria embossing folder. On the inside I have used a pearlised white paper and ran it through my Swiss Dots embossing folder. I then coloured this lovely Fuchsia image by Ruth with my Copic pens. Next I finally got to use my 80th birthday sticker on this card. :-)
I would love to enter this into the following challenges.
Here is our stall at the markets. We had such a lovely day. Very cold to start with. As I left the house at 6.20am it was 8C......brrrr... The day warmed up and the winds set in but there were lots of customers too. This is my best markets ever. Selling over 30 cards. Normally I manage to sell about 10. So I am still beaming.
Best go and do some work ....have a great day everyone.

Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Challenge - Buttons - DT Card
Hi everyone, what a mad week I have had. However, I think I am finally ready for the markets tomorrow. The weather looks like being perfect although a little windy.
Now I have time to share with you the card/chocolate box I made for my friend Helen's daughter who turned 12 earlier this week. I decided that I would use Cardmadfairy Digi Days newest challenge as the start of my card.
This time our theme is Buttons and the design team have been making some wonderful cards which are sure to inspire, all using Cardmadfairy images which can be found in the Digi Stamp Shop.
We hope you will play along with us this week but please remember that you must use a digi stamp although it's not necessary to use a Cardmadfairy one although it would be fantastic to see how you would use our images. Please remember though to only enter the challenge once unless you are using Cardmadfairy images, we will have to delete any extra entries which don't comply with our rules. For this challenge we are delighted to be sponsored by the fabulous
Hope Jacare - check out her fabulous digis here!
We are very sad to be losing our teamie Audrey who has been part of the team since the beginning.
She is stepping down for personal reasons, we would like to wish her all the best for the future and we will definitely be keeping up with her around blogland! This leaves a gap in our team and Jenni has decided to have a DT call out for not just 1 but 2 new members for our team here at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days. If you are interested please email Jenni and tell her a bit about yourself and show her your favourite recent project.

My card I used Bazzil card for the base and the lovely Past Spodia Combo papers from over at Blue Edge Crafts. I used the chocolate box template that Kaye share with us over at Craftmad. I so love this design as it is a present and card all in one. Of course the wonderful flower digi is from Cardmadfairy and I have coloured it with my Copic pens and added a mixture of buttons threaded with embroidery thread. The chocolate.....Nestle...chocolate eclairs...yum! Yes, I had to taste test.
Have a fun weekend everyone. I hope to catch up with everyone next week and have a couple of things to share too. :-)

Pyramid Race
It is Pyramid Race time here again in Gordonvale. This Saturday 152 mad, crazy, very fit people will be running up Walsh's Pyramid (922m) from Norman Park centre of Gordonvale.....so that adds a couple extra kilometres to the start and end of the race. One friend who is very fit is running up yet again. :-)
You can find out more details here.
So this means I am madly getting ready for a stall at the markets. Really madly as I ummed and arrgghhed this year. Emailed on the weekend to see if they had any spots left and the answer was ... sorry, no. Although, this morning I received an email saying there had been a cancellation and giving me first bids on the spot. So now I am running around madly putting inserts into cards. So if you don't see me for a couple of days you can imagine what I am doing.
Hope you have a great day.
Oh, I meant to share this info yesterday.

Craftmad August Sketch Challenge
Another week has begun and not a Christmas card in sight. :-)
Today I am sharing a card that I made using this months Card Sketch Challenge from over at Craftmad. I totally enjoyed making this as I have used paper and digi stamp that I have not used before.
Started with my blank white pre-scored card then a layer of Bazzill card. Then this wonderful Blue Edge patterned paper Past Spodia Batik Blue Check. This paper so reminds me of the chequered flag at the end of the race. I then used my little postage stamp dies to cut the red glitter paper. This terrific image I won from Limited Runs ages ago and finally have a chance to use it. I coloured it with my Copic pens and used blue metallic paper to paper piece the cupcake wrapper. To finish I added tiny black 'Happy Birthday' stickers along the bottom.
I would love to enter this card into the following challenges:

The last of christmas......for now
I am happy to say that I will now be moving on to everyday cards again. Actually, I have a couple of birthdays coming up so will be starting with them.
When I did this paper tole it looked very basic and even my daughter made the same comment. Soon as I attached it to this wonderful glitter paper though, I think it has just popped out. I then finished with this terrific Merry Christmas red border sticker from Sticker Store.
Now this has to be one of my favourites. I just love this poinsettia image that I cut from the 3D Paper Tole Mini Christmas booklet. Then as I layered it up it was just prettier. For the card I started with a blank white pre-scored card, layer of green and red Bazzill card. Then another terrific laser cut card front. I have used a metallic gold pen to create the faux stitching on this card and added a red star brad to the top.
Lucky last. This card I started with a blank pre-scored black card. Then a layer of silver and navy blue which I have cut with a wavy edge. I embossed one end of the navy blue card with my Swiss Dots embossing folder and aded some tiny silver sticker stars. I attached the lovely 3D paper tole image and a strip of maroon card with a silver 'Happy Christmas' rub-on.
Had to share this photo it was taken last week. My hubby had just floured some calamari and yes, his hand was covered in flour and our dog happened to be walking by as he finished.
Well his vet visit went well. The lump was removed and it was just a cheesy cyst....so relieved. Now the poor boy as 9 stitches and a shaved neck. Just a tad gross to look so I won't share photos. He is happy and well though. (This is the dog....not hubby) :-)
Now that brings me to the end of my Christmas cards. I just wanted to share one more time the link to Tracey Hanshaw's post regarding Christmas card for our Aussie Troops serving overseas. That is where these cards will be heading next week as soon as I get the inserts in. I exceeded my aim by one.....and will be sending 21 cards away. I was visiting Mum yesterday and she has about ten that she would like to send off too. Same boat as me though.....they need inserts.

Spinning Santa - Paper Tole/Decoupage
Morning everyone, a little bit chilly again this morning. This is only put on a jacket over tshirt and shorts chilly but will be another perfect clear day. So love living here at this time of year. :-)
Yes, more christmas cards.....hang in there as after today I only have another three to show you. I will happily play with other papers and images next week.
Todays card was inspired by one of the entries in our current Unstampabelles challenge which is all about Wheels and the Technique theme is Spirelli. The very clever Laura used a 'pinwheel' on her card which I though was a clever take on the theme. She also had a spinning front. Click here to see.
So I started my card with a blank pre-scored square white card. Then a layer of this lovely red Bazzill Card and this fun christmas paper from Print Blocks. I then used my Spellbinder dies to cut the circle from the front of the card and then two smaller scalloped edged circles. I used red cotton thread to create the Spirelli effect around the edge of the circle. Then attached the bottom and top connecting threads to the rear before covering with a matching scalloped edged circle. I then attached this wonderful 3D Paper Tole Santa image to the spinning circle and finished with some little tiny stars which are leftovers for a sticker sheet. To the bottom of the card I added a cheery red Merry Christmas sticker.
Here I started with red Bazzill for my base card and then a layer of green Bazzill card. Next I have used another of the wonderful laser cut card fronts. I have added a small gold star to the centre of each snowflake. Then I added this beautiful lantern 3D Paper Tole image to finish the card of. Sounds so easy but this card would have taken at least an hour from start to finish.
Must dash as our little dog needs a walk before taking him to the vets to have a lump removed on the back of his neck. Fingers crossed it is nothing serious.
Have a wonderful day everyone and thanks for popping by and spending a little of your time here.

Noel
Finally I had a chance to play with one of these lovely laser cut and stitching card fronts. These are new to Blue Edge Crafts and there are so many designs to choose from.
So I started with a blank white pre-scored card. Then a layer of SU Poppy Parade which I have rounded the corners to match the laser cut card front. I added a strip of green bazzill card to the top of the card front and some gold paper behind the bauble. I used my fine black pen to create the faux stitching....thanks so much Kaye for this idea. 'Noel' is a rub-on. I ran the card front through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I then added a 3D paper tole that I have cut out and layered up from the Mini 3D Paper Tole Christmas Booklet. Oh, and I added some bling.
I really love the green on this card.
I started again with a white pre-scored card. Then I added this wonderful green stripy paper that came with the paper tole in the 3D Paper Tole Christmas Booklet. Then I added the lovely christmas bauble 3D paper tole. Finished the card by adding this fun silver border sticker.

Flashback Friday Challenge #14 - Gift Card Holder and photos
Hi everyone, Flashback Friday has a new challenge happening. They want us to show the very first gift card holder that you posted. Remember that you have to repost the image not just link to the original post. Well I went in search and I am sure I made a card with a holder in the centre for one of my nephews but for the life of me I can't find it. So these gift card holders are the only ones I can find on my blog from last Christmas - December 2010 see original post here.
Guess I should get around to making some more.
This is what has kept our family busy this weekend. Sadly, our massive bamboo plant has dies. Died last year and were sort of kinda hoping that cyclone Yasi would blow it over. No such luck. :-)
So every day it has got browner and we look at it and think we must do something and think it is such a huge job. I rang for quotes but as soon as I mentioned the word bamboo they virtually hung up. lol One guy did quote approx $2000 without even having a close look. Anyways, we have been having a little rain and wind and the bamboo collapsed so far on this side that we could not walk. Our wonderful 17yo son decided on Friday to make a start, even continued working in the rain. Then hubby got home and thought it was a great idea, got changed and grabbed the chainsaw. The pile grew huge but the dent in the plant is only small. Saturday we had a 6 cubic metre skip delivered and spent the afternoon filling it with what we had cut. A time consuming job as we now have to cut the bamboo into lengths to fit the skip. Sunday we put the remainder of the cut pile into the skip. We estimate that there will be at least another 6 skip loads and then we will have to talk really nicely to a friend who has a backhoe to see if he will help remove the central clump that will be remaining.
Bamboo photos taken by our son.
Can't believe we have filled a 6 cubic metre skip, still a pile on the ground and it doesn't even look like we have made a dent. :-0
Our bottlebrush trees are all in bloom and the butterflies are loving them. Also the lorikeets but they didn't hang around with the chainsaw noise. Ask our son to take a photo and this is what he got.
If you squint you can see a couple of butterflies on the flowers.
I decided to have a play with the macro while the camera was out.
Then I spied this butterfly on a bottlebrush.
I crept forward and turned the macro back on. Was amazed how close he let me come.
And closer still....I was almost touching him here.
Well that is the end of my long post...wishing you all a wonderful week. Oh and if you have spare time, chainsaw and truck we would love to see you. :-)
