Lazy Dayz Cards
I just had to share these cards as I thought they were so much fun. Kaye (eyak48) from over at Craftmad has been busy with some new Paper Tole sheets from Blue Edge Crafts. They are called Lazy Dayz and the best bit are pre-cut. I only discovered the pre-cut bit this morning and now will seriously start looking into them. :-) Be sure to click on Kaye's name to see more cards in her gallery.

Weed Garden to Vegie Garden
Mr Caterpillar.....I am sure I saw at least four different caterpillars. Green, hairy black and hairy orange and this guy.
Hi everyone, well I did get out into my garden yesterday. The weather was perfect a little cloudy to start with followed by blue skies. Thought I would share a few of the inhabitants that now have to find a new home as I have removed all the weeds they were hiding in.
This guy was just the cutest. He sat still watching my from his little spot in the Pineapple leaves. He was approx 1.5cm long. There were another two frogs in the garden which were smaller still. So the garden was alive with bugs. When I dug the soil up I was very happy to see some lovely long earthworms hiding in the soil.

I took the girls off to Bunnings Nursery and bought ourselves some fertiliser to give the soil a boost. Also some seedlings. Parsley, Basil, Tomato (Tropic), Snow Peas, Celery, Capsicum and Mignonette Lettuce. We had corn seeds at home which we planted also. Now I can't wait until it is already to munch on. Happy Monday everyone.

Using a Wall for Inspiration
Morning everyone, a beautiful day here. Brenda-Lea over at PurpleLady reminding me that next week is the start of winter here. :-0 We no longer have aircons running and we don't tend to turn the fans on first thing of a morning so. So now that I think of it Winter is on it's way. :-) The other thing is we are starting to have beautiful clear sky days which means great time to be outside gardening which is where I will be tomorrow (Sunday) and also great time to be out in the boat and on the reef. Which were last Wednesday......so beautiful. We went to Michaelmas Cay and snorkelled with the fish.
Now on to this card. I set the Weekly Inspiration Challenge over at Craftmad and this week thought I would use the above wonderful photo my daughter had taken while at Mission Beach once on holidays.
This is the card that I came up with and am very happy with the results. I have used SU Almost Amethyst for the base and second layer of the card. I cut four squares from the second layer and have mounted it on 3D foam to give a bit of dimension to the card. To fit behind the square cutouts I have cut squares from SU Sage Shadow, Apricot Appeal,Bashful Blue, Blush Blossom. To which I added a mandala sticker from the Sticker Store and then covered with Dimensional Magic. I created the flower by cutting three circles from SU Perfect Plum and design paper in the SU Almost Amethyst colour, scrunched them up and then opened them out flat. I then created the centre of the flower with more mandala stickers. The leaves I bought the other day from Scrap Therapy down in Babinda they are so lovely and feel like suede. They come in a roll and cut them apart.
Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Mouse Card
Very quick post today. This is the third card in my set to send off for my May Card Swap over at Craftmad. We had to make three cards and a folder to hold them. Aren't these mice the cutest ever. I have coloured them with my aqua pen and watercolour pencils. I am so pleased with the colouring....I would so love to keep the card. :-) The papers again are from Kaisercraft.
Yesterday's 'Biggest Morning Tea' was a great success and I happily sold 11 cards....so am on a high. Gotta dash will try and catch up with everyone real soon.

Cat Lover
Morning everyone, here is another card I have created using those wonderful papers from Kaisercraft - Ella and Sofia. I have used a pre scored base card from Blue Edge Crafts for the base card. I have used my cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder to emboss down the right hand side of the card. Added a layer of Sofia paper and finished with the bling down the side. The wonderful cat image I received in an image swap we did last year over at Craftmad. I finally had a try at cutting my own corners from matching paper. I really love seeing this effect on other cards. I think this card needs a greeting but I am still deciding what it should be. Have a good day everyone and thanks for visiting an leaving such lovely comments. They always give me a boost and smile throughout the day. :-)

Glasses Case
This month over at Craftmad our sewing swap was to make a mobile phone case. However, my partner doesn't own a mobile phone so I have made her a glasses case. I found a great pattern here on About.com I have used felt as the liner for this case ....something I probably wouldn't do again as it made for thick seams. Athough when I ironed it they sat much flatter. I really love how the front of the case ended up with all the cute animals looking at you with their eyes. The rear to the case actually has a lot of the feet of animals. Pure fluke.

Whiff of Joy Card
I have used some of my new papers to create this card. I have used a pre scored white card for my base card. (Blue Edge Crafts) Now I layered up the KaiserCraft paper Ella, Sofia, and Nadia. What pretty names. A friend had given a copy of this wonderful Whiff of Joy image from the "Women's Delight Collection". I have coloured it with my aqua pen and watercolour pencils and really happy how well the colours match. Finished with a touch of bling and the flower.
*****A tip. Something so obvious I had not thought of it until someone told me. I often see those words 'laugh', believe' all spelt out in bling and think they're to big for my cards so walk on by. But.......quite often they are reduced in price and you can just use the individual bling like I did on this card. I like the fact that you have a lot of the smaller size bling available to use.

Life seems to have picked up speed.
Sorry no card again today. Funny how life can go from very slow and in my case a tad boring. Waking up to do housework everyday just wasn't exciting me anymore. lol These last four days it would be nice to sit and have a cuppa.
My last four days I have spent....
tripping around the Waterfalls, cooked a slice and took it to the Mulgrave Settlers Museum for a group of ladies that were visiting. If you are local and would like to visit sometime and have a wonderful homemade morning tea be sure to give us a call. We would love to hear from you. Then it was grocery shopping time, back to Mulgrave Settlers Museum for my rostered day to help all the visitors and continue adding all our library books to a new computer program. Then into town with our Japanese lodger, home again to cook tea, out to pick up a BBQ, home to cry over cut onions while my son laughed at me.
Saturday....the plan.....sausage sizzle fundraiser for Relay for Life (Cancer Research), horse race, candle party. Yay!!!!
Sunday.....staying home. :-) and a little cardmaking.
Amongst all that I was asked if I would like to create some journals like these....of course Yes! was my answer. Also asked if I would like to sell my cards at a Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser. Another Yes!!! So more busy days coming up. Wishing you all a terrific weekend.

Happy Chick and Waterfalls
I have made this card for the Pick 3 Challenge over at Stamping Vacation. You have until the end of May be sure to join in as it gets you thinking outside of the square and digging around in your collections.
Sorry don't know that name of this cute stamp image but anyone does I would love to hear from you. The gold card (Blue Edge Crafts) I have embossed with my cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots and Diamonds in the Rough folders. I have used my watercolour pencils and aquapen to colour the image. On the inside I have added a lovely layer of Stampin Up Design Paper. It reminded me of chicken wire. Finished the card with the lovely bling and flowers from Blue Edge Crafts.
First stop was Mungalli Falls...... stopped and had some lunch here. Then it was off onto the Milla Milla Waterfall Circuit.
Last but by no means least the Milla Milla Falls. Then we drove home down the windy roads of the Gillies Range which comprises of approx 200 corners over a 19km stretch of road. Poor Nana's head was nodding away as she was fighting off sleep. We both had a lovely day.
Just PICK 3 items from the list below and create! Here is your list....
-make an easel card ...I chose this
-do not use any white on your creation
-use any image that has to do with gardening..... I think my image is very much gardening
-use any color cardstock that starts with "G"... the embossed card is GOLD
-use a scripture verse on your creation
-make a larger than normal card
-use a blue embellishment
-do not use anything round on your creation
-use pearls on your creation
I had this card all ready yesterday but ran out of time to take a photo. Next few photos will show you what I had to opt for rather than staying at home. :-) I took our Japanese exchange student (Nana) for a bit of sight seeing. First stop was to meet up with a wonderful friend at Scrap Therapy in Babinda. We had a wonderful time checking out all their wonderful stock. Nana is not into crafting although she did stay and have a sticky beak. Nana took herself off to the wonderful Aboriginal Arts and Crafts shop in Babinda. Before she goes home Nana wants to return to buy one of their wonderful boomerangs. I found some lace, paper, and scissors that I liked. Nana and I left our friend there and we head up the Palmerston Highway this takes you up to the Atherton Tablelands. Our day started at 24C and by the time we reached our first stop we hopped out to a chilly 17C.

Build A Sketch Challenge #5
This is the sketch I have created with this months selected pieces. This is for the Build a Sketch Challenge #5 over at Stamping Vacation.
Now this is the card I came up with using my sketch. I am so happy with this card. I just love the colours and the way that my mistake made my card better. :-) I have used a pre-scored white card for the base card. Then a layer of this mottled design paper from Stampin Up. The flower image is from SU Playful Petals and I have used my aqua pen and the SU Soft Subtles Inkspots to colour it in. Now the mistake in my card was to go around the edges of the flower with my brown felt pen to hide the white cut marks and then use my aqua pen near that brown. It all bled, but once I added the glitter I was really happy with the end result. The side panel is a piece of SU Perfect Plum and SU design paper in the Certainly Celery colouring. The leaves are from the SU Playful Petals set which I coloured with Certainly Celery. Topped them with these lovely clear butterfly stickers from the Sticker Store. I added SU So Saffron card to the back of them.

Daffodil Stained Glass
Last week I set the weekly challenge for Craftmad as 'Stained Glass' (This week it is going to be 'Blooms'). Here is my version of stained glass. I have used SU Bashful Blue for the base card which I folded into a gate card. I found some wonderful matching SU Designer Paper. The right side I have just added a panel of it and stitched around the edge with metallic gold thread. The left side I pleated the designer paper and attached. Then added a black border sticker which I stitched next to to match the other side. The front tag is a wonderful sticker from the Sticker Store. I have used my SU Soft Subtles inkspots and aqua pen to colour this image. I added Glossy Accents to the yellow parts of the daffodils.
The Christening yesterday was a beautiful affair and so nice to share all this family fun with our exchange student visitor. :-)

Christening Card
My little nephew is getting Christened this Sunday. So I have gotten to and made a card for him and the family. I spied this wonderful idea of doing the cross on Sarah Klass's blog and as I had the stamp set she had used I just had to have a try.
I have used a pre-scored white Majestic Shimmer Card from Blue Edge Crafts for the base card. I have then used layers so SU Brocade Blue and SU Bashful Blue. Added three tabs of white cross grain ribbon to the side. The cross I cut out a masking template in the shape of a cross from scrap paper. I used matching SU ink to stamp the flourish from the SU Priceless set and then sponge Bashful Blue ink for the background of the cross then added a touch of glitter. I then printed out the greeting and layered it up and finished the card with blue bling.

Award from Laura at Mi Sello Personal
The lovely and talented Laura over at Mi Sello Personal passed on a bunch of awards to me. This award really caught my eye and I just had to share it with all my followers. I won't list names but this goes to each and everyone of you and please feel free to pass it on on your blog. Be sure to scroll down when you get to Laura's blog as she is so very clever drawing her own little people for cards and then creating the background like a story on her cards.

Three For You Cards
I have made these two quick cards using my new Stampin Up 'Three For You' set. The card above I had a lot of fun making. I love adding black lines to create something new. The rectangle of dots on the side is how the vase started out until I attacked it with my black pen. I have raised two of the flowers on 3D foam and added bling to their centres.
This card went from bad to worse to it's okay. Lol. I punched a row of flowers into the top of the card. Then though I would stamp those lovely dotted flowers through the punched flower holes. Not thinking about the remaining card in between each flower that would catch any stray ink on my stamp. So....then I added the row of flowers along the outside. The card still need something so I stamped the wording directly onto the card but of course I smudged it. :-) So now that is all covered up with layers of card. Got there in the end. Have a good day all.

We are off to check out the 'The Boulders' near Babinda today. The day started out beautifully with blue skies but now it is a grey cloud cover. All the water will still be pretty and we will no doubt happen on rain since we are visiting the second wettest town in Australia. Ooops....that is wettest town in Australia.

Pencil Case for Craftmad Sewing Swap
Yes, last week I finally dragged out my sewing machine to sew up this pencil case for my partner in the April Sewing Swap over at Craftmad. I enjoyed creating this once I remembered how to sew a zip. :-) Love this material...sadly it is the last of it but a good excuse to shop for some more. This month we are swap a mobile phone case.
I have been busy the last few days. Saturday started with a very successful sausage sizzle to raise funds for Cancer research. Time to unpack and have a cuppa before running my son in to my parents place so he could mow. While us girls headed to the shops so that my daughter could buy me a yummy block of chocolate for Mother's Day. Then it was a race home to make tea have a shower and leave my two at home to wait for their Dad to return from work. While I took our exchange student back into town (20min drive) to watch our local basketball teams that are in the Queensland League. Nana (the student) plays basketball back home in Japan but hasn't had a chance to since being here as we don't seem to have any basketball happening in Gordonvale. So I think she appreciated seeing some games. I really enjoyed it as going to watch the games is something I have never done before and the crowd were very friendly. The cutest bit was at half time and the 6,7,8 yo kids came out. I think they got bigger cheers than the adults. Amazingly, there were a couple of balls going into the basket. I really don't know how the could throw so far.
Sunday Mother's day was very nice and slow. Catching up on blogging and being spoilt by my kids. Watched Twilight the movie but glad I had read the book as wasn't too rapt in the movie. Just settling in to do a bit of crafting and my SIL rings. My brother had taken off on a trip for work that morning leaving her with a 6month old and 4yo and 6yo. She had hurt her arm badly while picking the baby up, was in tears and needed help. So there went my crafting arvo. I headed over and took her to the Medical centre. She has pulled a ligament near the elbow in her right arm....painful and now hard work trying to carry a 6month around.
Monday..... cleaned up around my place a bit and then back in to help and drive SIL and Miss 4yo to swimming lessons. SIL's arm was feeling a little better with some medication. Thankfully my brother arrived back home last night. Yesterday, arvo I was picking my Mum and Dad up from the train station and shuttling them back home. So good to see them after a month down visiting my sister.
Guess what my plan is today........????? Stay at home and not hop in that car until tennis this afternoon. :-)
Take care everyone.

My Prize Goodies and Thankyou Folder
Morning everyone, Blogger wasn't playing with me yesterday.....he wouldn't let me upload my photos. Which is probably just as well as I had hubby home with a sore back, poor thing. One of those occasions you don't do any different and your back kills you. All he did was go to get out of the car...twing his back was sore. It's a bit better today and has headed off to work. Oh and the sun is out....beautiful. The air had a slight chill to it this morning. Autumn is on it's way. Yay!
A non cardmaking friend joined myself and another friend for the night. She won a bottle of wine and then another prize which had to be Stampin Up product. She was so lovely and picked this wonderful paper pack and halved it between myself and the other friend.
Yes, I was still lucky and won this great scrapbooking kit on the night. The papers are lovely and I think I will use them on the book in my next photo.
I am so spoilt as the lovely Mandy sent me this wonderful collection of goodies from Blue Edge Crafts for helping out over at Craftmad. Love all those ribbons and I have never tried one of these Kaiser Craft books before but admire lots that I have seen done. This is what I think the papers above will look good on.
Now onto my photos. First is a folder of cards I am working on to send to my hubby's grandfather and his new wife. Yes, they got married last Thursday. Grandfather is 95 and turns 96 in a weeks time. His new wife is 90. A shame we couldn't attend as the wedding was down in Sydney but the photos we saw showed a couple very much in love. So there is hope for everyone. :-) I wanted to send them a little something as a wedding gift. So have decided that a few 'thank you' cards and other cards would not go astray. A great chance to for me to play with one of my Stampin Up prizes. 'Three For You' punch and stamp set which you can see in the photo below. The Thank You greeting is actually a 'Just Rite' stamp which I thought had the right font for these cards.

Stampin Up Projects
I made these the other night with Ruth at a Relay for Life fundraiser. We have used the new Stmapin Up Label die on this cute little handbag.
This lovely card does look better in real life. Once the again we have a cloudy showery day so the light is not great. We have used the lovely, stunning Manhattan Flower die on this card. Something another friend pointed out that this is actually called 'Flower' and not rose. We have always searched for Manhattan Rose and found projects but you get much more if you use the correct term 'Flower'. Prize photos tomorrow. My computer is being slow today.

Not a Sale
Yep, it rained off and on and I paid $10.00 to sit in the park in the damp for five hours and then packed up and came home. I did however, get to chat to my brother and his family, two cardmaking friends and other people that I haven't seen for a while. Was a little bummed but I have come home, lunched, gardened and taken the dog for a walk and now feeling heaps better. Time for tea now....chicken and noodles. Oh, did some cards at a Stampin Up fundraiser and won some wonderful prizes so will show them soon. Who can't help be happy about that. Have a good weekend.
