Fabric Postcard

Can you believe it is Friday already.  What a week.
I am so loving my new lightbox as this photo was taken at my desk at 10pm at night.  Amazing hey!

Well today I have a fun project to share with you. Over at Craftmad our June Sewing Swap was one Fabric Postcard.  Something I have never done before but really loved playing with.

I decided since it was a postcard why not create a scene.  So I decided to create where I live with fabrics.
I then added some flowering sugar cane along the base of the pyramid as that is all you see at the moment.  It's hard to see in the photo but I have used lots of different stitching on each piece of the scene.  Great fun playing with all the different patterns.  The mill has just started crushing so in the next few weeks we will see empty fields and houses  emerging.  The houses are hidden for a whole year behind all the cane.
I had fun adding the felt sun.  Now the edging of the card leaves a lot to be desired....I just could not get my machine to do a nice even satin stitch.  Something to work on but I hope it gives the postcard a rustic look.

This is the real 'Walsh's Pyramid with cane in the foreground but not in flower.

The back of the postcard....not too pretty.  I have used cardstock for this.

Well that is me for this week.

I will be back on Monday.....very excited as that is when we announce our first challenge over at the new challenge blog Unstampabelles.  Have you put your name in the Candy draw yet???
