Happy New Year and Happy Birthday Hubby

Happy New Year everyone, I hope your celebrations went well however you chose to spend the night.

The 1st of January and it is my husband's birthday so here is my first card of the year.  My plan this year is to go through my Favourites/Bookmark and Pinterest lists and try a few of the styles and techniques of cards I like.  The lists are growing so long.  So I decided to start with a Napkin Fold card.  Great fun and made so much easier with my Simply Scored tool.  I started with Bazzill card stock then used Stampin Up patterned paper.  The band is held closed by a magnet clasp from my stash.  The owl image is from Whimsy Stamps and the first time I have ever coloured him brown.  Normally he is a she in pinks and purples.  :-)  Now, I would have much preferred it if I didn't have the brickwork background but that is me trying to cover up the ink smudge I left when stamping the owl. :-0

The inside of the card with Stampin Up rub ons.

Thanks for visiting.  I will probably be having a nanny nap later today to make up for staying up till midnight which way past my bed time.  :-)

  3. Happy birthday to your Hubby. I guess you could never forget the date! Great card shape. My resolve this year is to try as many techniques, card shapes and use as many of the digi's and stamps in my stash as possible. Tall order Huh! p.s. Went onto Craft Mad to vote but I missed the boat so I guess my first challenge will be to try the Bargello style. Happy Crafty New Year to you. hugs Mrs A.

  4. That pop-up card reminds me of the fireworks that popped and whizzed last night around our house at midnight! Lily-dog Did Not Like All That Noise! :)

  6. I am humbled by the fact that you took the time to make that brick wall! I would have totally lost patience and chucked it in the bin and made it again! Great image for the day too. I love your unusual fold card! Must get that one onto the list too!!
