Tropical Hello

A quick card I made to send to our son.  An old fashion hello in the mail.

Started with a green base card and used this crepe paper that I have had in my stash for years.   It was from a day of Mum and I playing with different techniques like shaving cream  for marbling paper.  Not  sure what we did with crepe paper I am thinking we adding drops of food colouring.  Anyway it made a great background.  I stretched the top and bottom edges to give a slight frill.  Then layered up some blue bazzill bling and this lovely yellow paper.  Discovered this terrific palm tree embellishment and the hello die.

I am sure our son will appreciate the warmth of the card as he told me yesterday he woke to 12C so winter is on it's way for him. :-)

Good Friday today….wishing you all a wonderful Easter and time with your family.
I plan a little gardening, crafting, hot cross bun and chocolate eating and catching up with friends.

  2. Lovely card! Love what you did, whatever it was, to the crepe paper. Was it a full sheet or did it come on a roll like a party streamer? It's still chilly here. Several states north of us had 16 inches of snow predicted today or tomorrow. That's a lot of the wet, cold stuff!

  3. Oh, by the way, I've been looking up a new creature on the internet. I still don't know what it is and since you like animals, and live in a country with several odd creatures, perhaps you might like to see pics of it -- search for chupacabra. I've seen videos on You Tube mostly. The animal started showing up in Puerto Rico, Latin America, Texas, USA, and now Maryland which is way north of Texas. Tell me what you think.

  5. So did the chupacabra look like anything you've ever seen? The video from Texas looked like a mini-hairless kangaroo standing on it's hind-quarters to eat the cat food to me.

  14. card reminds me of sun shine and war days - 12oC sounds good not cold at all by UK standards. I looked on line after I saw you'd been on a cruise from Sydney was amazed to see whilst staying in Sydney that they do week long scrapbooking cruising how cool would that be. Having been inspired by your cruise think we might do a week long one when we next visit Oz - best wishes Lesley x
