Another of my favourite challenges over at Stamping Vacation is this Build-A-Sketch. Denise over time has listed 14 different shapes with measurements. Now each month she asks us to use approx five of them. This month we had to use shape numbers #1, #2, #3, #5 and #14.
This is the card I created using those sketch pieces. I have used a pre-scored white card then a layer of this fantastic design paper from Stampin Up. A piece of SU Basic Grey which I pin pricked around the edges. Then a square of SU Kiwi Kiss with some wonderful corner stickers . The oval is SU Lavender Lace which once again I have pin pricked around the edge and then added a swirl stamp with versamark. Tilda I have coloured with my Aquamarkers and I am really happy with the results. I like the way I could shade easily like on the socks.
I have all my sketch pieces in a plastic bag to keep them handy and together. I have numbered each one on the back. Also printed a list out to keep with the bag so that I know the measurements when I am cutting out the patterned papers for my card.
A tip.... *I didn't have an oval shape and tried to draw one freehand to cut out ... not good. So I jumped on my computer and in my Word Document program I drew up an oval to the exact measurements that Denise asked for. Even had it so it printed out as the requested black.
*Then when I created this card I was just going to draw around my shape but decided I could just do the same and print and outline of the oval directly on to the back of the purple card that I used. Then cut out.
I would love to see what sketches you come up with this month challenge. Be sure to enter over at Stamping Vacation so that you can be in the monthly draw for the $25.00 gift certificate at Flourishes.

I love this Tilda sitting in the oval....brilliant idea!! Especially love that background paper you have chosen! Wanted to say your build-a-sketch pieces are very organized...never thought to print out the actual sizes. Mine are just thrown in a chocolate box! LOL! It works but yours is much tidier!
ReplyDeleteOh this is such a cute card!
