Pick Three Challenge and Craftmad October Card Swap

Yes, I have combined challenges again....so much fun. This week over at the 'Pick Three Challenge at Stamping Vacation' we had to pick three elements from this picture. I think you might have to be quick to enter this week as there are already entries.

So I picked Tree, and two colours Black and Orange. I used black leather craft for the base card then added a layer of SU Ruby Red which I machine stitched with zig zag around the edge. A rectangle of SU Old Olive and another of SU Really Rust which I ran through the Cuttlebug with the 'Diamonds in the Rough' embossing folder. Didn't think that was quite right so then ran it through the 'Forest Branches' embossing folder. I really love the extra layers when you do two or more embossings. Next I used an offcut of SU Pumpkin Pie hence the oblong shape but it works so well on the card. Stamped the SU Lovely as a Tree image and then with a smaller zig zag sewed around the edge.

This card is now in the mail and flying off to my Craftmad card swap partner for this month. The theme was any form of stitching on two cards.

Always forget to post something. I won't be in this weekend as my daughter and I are on the road and heading down to Townsville. A four hour drive. My daughter is playing in the Touch Tournament down there and if it is anything like last year it is a fun time. So see you Monday....maybe with a project.....maybe not. :-)

  4. Great card, love the colours and the way you have shaped the mats. Very clever idea. ikki

ps. You can defo use the new folders in the CB. They fit much better than the actual CB one's from Provocraft. If you want to see more of them, my supplier (link on blog) has pictures of all that are available and also illustrations of the new type of die cuts.
