This card I tried out some
brayering which I have been seeing around the web a bit. Also one of the ladies at the retreat was showing everyone how to do this and does beautiful work. I have had a
brayer sitting in my collection of things to use for a very long time. Probably used it twice but only to roll something flat. So I grabbed a white gloss card and rolled a layer of
SU Pretty in Pink, then masked a rectangle and rolled the next layer of
SU Regal Rose and lastly went around the edges with
SU Rose Red. Fun to do. Next I punched out medium and large Retro Flowers of the same
Stampin Up card and Designer paper. Coloured and cut out the
Hanna Stamp heart 'Think Pink' and finished with some wonderful wavy clear
glitter border stickers.
Tried another technique here that I have seen over at
Ikki's Cupboard a couple of times and love the effect. I ran my white base card through the the
cuttlebug using the Swiss dots embossing folder. I just embossed each end then with a ruler and my embossing tool embossed two lines above each end of the Swiss Dots leaving a blank section. So effective. I stamped with
SU Pretty in Pink using the flower from the
SU Good Friend set. Coloured,
Kindy Glitzed and cut out the Hanna Stamp heart and attached it with 3D foam tape. I coloured the ribbon from the Hanna Stamp set and topped it off if
dimensionals so give it a nice glossy effect.
Both of these cards are lovely. I don't own a brayer as I'm not that good at it. Your card turned out just right. Well done.

Oh I'm learning the brayer too at the moment, by the same lady probably as she was on retreat. I just love these cards and hope they go well at the fundraiser!!
ReplyDeleteOnce again lovely creations, Merry. Love how the two creations are so different from each other.

ReplyDeleteBoth look really nice! Great job on your brayer technique!
ReplyDeleteAlso wanted to thank you at looking into the stickers for me. I'm still on the search here. I might have to wait for dumb luck when I happen to run into some!
These are really pretty. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. You're my first visiter from overseas! I havn't been very good at keeping my blog up to date lately. Have been so busy making samples and doing party's, just havn't found the time. Please pop back soon because after this weekend when I'm demonstrating on the Particraft stand at Alexandra Palace, London, I should have a bit of free time to catch up.
