" i " Trivia

Sorry no cards to share today although was busy making some on the weekend.  If I share though I know I will spoil the surprise for some people as they visit my blog.

So instead I have a little trivia to share.

Hubby and I were chatting about things and in conversation he asked what the name is for the dot above the ' i '.  He was sure it had a name.  I was thinking it is just part of the 'i'  so of course had to google.  Can you believe it it does have a name the dot is called a 'tittle'.

tit·tle  (ttl)
1. A small diacritic mark, such as an accent, vowel mark, or dot over an i.
2. The tiniest bit; an iota.

  1. The name is funny Merry.. Thanks for the laugh..Loz

  2. WOW! I have never heard of that what a fun fact to learn!
Hope you had a fab weekend!

  3. I totally learned something new!! I had no idea it had it's own name!

Isn't it SO HARD posting projects this time of year?!?! I'm making stuff for people too, but can't post most of it until AFTER Christmas!!

  4. Interesting! That'd be a great Trivial Pursuit question!

  5. Thanks for commenting on my tags! I've enjoyed making them and hope to finish out the 24. Just uploaded another. It's COLD here and we had to move all my paints, inks, markers, tapes, and glues back to the house so they wouldn't freeze last night! By the way, I've noticed that Tim Holtz uses bling to put the tittle over the j and i on some of his tags! Have a MERRY Christmas! :)

  6. By the way, the skirt of red is a crepe paper streamer! :)

  7. lol too funny Merry, thats totally something I would think of too! Thank goodness for google, huh?

Have Fun, and take care! xoxo

  8. Too funny....I think you and hubby have too much time on your hands. LOL

Thanks for much for visiting my little part of the world. I really appreciate the time you have taken to leave me a comment. I love hearing from you and if you are new I really like the fact I can now visit your blog too.
