Relay for Life

I have no craft at all to show.  The only reason I have been near my craft desk is to gather anything for Relay that I have plonked there.  I still thought I should start with a little crafting while I share photos of our Relay experience.  My daughter and friend helped get together the Ranger/Guide Relay team for our area.  They chose the theme of fighting for a cure.  So satin boxers, boxing gloves and a black shirt.   My daughter went a step further and created this wonderful boxing belt all card stock, stickers and glitter from my stash.

Setting up we are the white tent on the left.  Yes, there were lots of morph suits used on the night .....morph suits are what those girls are wearing as they do a lap.  We even had two guys in them in our team.

The overall theme of Relay for Life Cairns was 'Gone Troppo' and we decided to run with this theme.  This is not a requirement teams could also decorate and dress up according to the name of their team.
As you can see the weather was spectacular......and was cold during the night but not freezing.

The tent is decorated, and we are dressed and ready to join the parade.  This is the majority of our team, a few stragglers still had to join us.  My daughter designed the banner and then did part of the artwork with my self and the lovely Gloria...in the red, directly above the second palm tree.

Off we go in the parade of 221 teams (teams are 15 people).

The teams that followed.

The people with the red umbrellas were in the tent on the right of us.

The Invincibles were in the tent left of us.  Isn't this Flintstone car amazing.

Our site set up and ready for the 18 hours of walking, talking and laughing.

After banking the last of our money this week our team raised $1489.50.
Still open for donations for two weeks  here.
