Day 16 Clock and or time

I am hoping to find some of this (time) this week but as I think about my planned week I am sure that time will be hiding.

I have made this for the Craftmad Daily Pink Challenge - this for Day 16 and required a 'clock and/or the word time'.  Of course as this is all to help raise the awareness of breast cancer it must include pink.
Today is the last day of the challenges but you still have until 3rd November to create any/all of the challenges to enter the prize draw.

So I started with a blank white card and added a another piece of white cardstock which has been run through my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The patterned paper is from a set I bought from Stampin Up ages ago.  The other side is Stampin Up Rose Red using the Top Note die.  This lovely clock is from a Stampin Up set called 'Forever Young'.....isn't so pretty.  I added a white crossgrain ribbon down the centre.  Sentiment is from a white sticker sheet and finished with three pink bling.

If you would like some 'Pink' inspiration but sure to check out the Daily Pink Challenge Album at Craftmad.  So wonderful to see so many different takes on the challenges.

Yes, I have a few more pink cards up my sleeve.  I also have about 11 more to do to have one for each day.  Not sure I will accomplish that.

I would love to enter this into the following challenges:

Just have to enter this one.......not sure if I will qualify :-)  Just my humour.

Cardmadfairy Digi Days Challenge - Friendship

Hi everyone, miss me?  I have missed being in blogland.  I really am not sure where all my time has gone this week.  Things just keep coming up to keep me away from the computer.
Hope to change that next week and catch up on all that you have been doing.

Come on over and enter, be sure to use a digital stamp.

I started with my plain white card a layer of Stampin Up Pumpkin Pie and some matching Stmapin Up patterned paper.  I have coloured this cute image from Cardmadfairy called Sleeping Morris with my copic pens.  The sentiment is from a Stampin Up set....isn't it such a sweet thing to say.
Finished by adding one of the beautifully crocheted daisies that Fran sent me.  I cut out some leaves and added the word friend along the vein.

I would love to enter into the following challenges:

Unstampabelles - #4 Fall/Autmn

Hi everyone, thought you might like to see my 'Thanks' card I have created without a stamp in sight.
I started with a plain white card then added a layer of Stampin Up Crumb Cake which I have embossed with my Victoria folder.  I have gone around the edge with a Stampin Up border punch....really love how this punch creates such neat corners too.  The white flowers and the bronze skeleton leaves are from Unstampabelles sponsor this month - Pizzazz Applenty.

I have added some buttons to the centres of the flowers.
I finished with a white sticker sentiment.

Yesterday I shared some photos of my weekend away with friends.
Well one of my friends Helen....sent me some more photos.  Thought I should share one of the ones with me in it as I share a photo with Helen and Ruth already.
I have also included a photo of the room and what it looked like before and after we arrived.
Another showing the outside of the Garden Apartment.

10 yo Birthday Card

Hi all, hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for another week.
I had a wonderful weekend with two terrific friends - Helen and Ruth.
More on that after I tell you about my card.
I created this card for Helen's son who turned 10 last week.
He loves cartoon characters and was so easy to baby sit when younger and he discovered our one an only copy of Looney Tunes.  Every time he visited as a toddler he would ask to watch this video.
Now I believe he enjoys Smurfs but still doesn't mind Bugs Bunny.
So with this in mind and using a Daily Pink Challenge from over at Craftmad I started his card.
The challenge was to use the Craftmad logo colours and add a touch of pink.
I dug out my Stampin Up Brights cards stock as I knew the colours I chose would work together.
Found this sketch on the net and started layering up.
On the blue card stock I have used my Versamark and a couple of spotty stamps to create the background.
I ran the orange through my Happy Birthday embossing folder.  The pink layer I used a orange coloured ink and added some stars to give the pink a more manly feel. :-)
I downloaded this colouring in page image of the Looney Tune characters and coloured them with my copic markers.  Such fun.  The ten is a sticker I have had for a while.....I coloured it with my copic markers to match it with the card.
When I gave the card I added a $1.00 coin to the basketball for a bit of fun. Oh and a little extra cash on the inside.

Now on to my weekend away.  We stayed a Cocos at Trinity Beach.
The Garden Apartment that we stayed in was not the most modern but it was clean and perfect for what we wanted.  Heaps of room and so very quiet.  Would be perfect for a family.  Also it has wheelchair facilities....not that we needed them but thought this was worth noting.

We arrived 2ish Friday and left 1ish Sunday arvo.   Went out and had a lovely meal in one of the many restaurants at Trinity Beach.  Lime Tree Restaurant...very nice although my friend Helen ordered a small plate serve and really there was not much on there at all.  Ruth and I ordered from the All Day Bar menu and seemed to have just enough and it was yum.   We then catered for the remainder of our meals. Me, doing ham and salad sandwiches for lunches. Helen on the yummiest Butter Chicken Curry and Ruth on egg and bacon muffins for breakfast. Yellow, champagne Saturday night certainly made for some interesting focusing on cardmaking. Tim Tams, chocolate covered dry cherries, dip and biccies. Oh yes and crafting until mid night each night. Friday night was the only time we left the room :-0 Managed to create 13 cards (which I will share gradually), relaxed, chatted and admired each others
work. Bagged our husbands and kids.
I was seated down the far end near the door.  Yes, the room was rearranged.  Lounge moved against the wall. Then we set up our two fold out tables with their dining table.  Perfect fit, right next to the window for natural light and view of trees.

On the Saturday night I visited Craftmad to say a quick hello in the Girls Night In.  Thanks goes  to Kerry, Kaye and Mandy for organising the Create and Chat night. Certainly had fun playing the body part game. Rinny's answer gave everyone a good chuckle. How wonderful that I could combine most of Crafty friends on one night.

So now I am back home and reality has hit.
Had to put in an insurance claim for my sons car.
Someone has backed into his front bumper cracking it and busting his indicator.  This unresponsible person didn't even leave a "I'm sorry note'.  Thankfully, there was a witness who took notes.  So fingers crossed we get some money back.

Today I have been attacking our bamboo....yes, I am a bit over  bamboo, sorry to go on about it but I just love to share. lol
With all the rain last week the remaining half of the bamboo just collapsed.
This has sort of helped us as now we can get to it all.
Just don't want to do it. lol.  Instead of spending our money on skips now we have found a terrific guy who said he would mulch it if we chop it all down.  So that is what is happening.

This is what it look like last week while it was raining and collapsing.

A view from our carport taken on the weekend.

The pile I have cut today.

Now what it looks like.

On My Couch - Papertry Ink

Hi everyone, just asking a favour for a friend.  My friend has taken a liking to Papertry Inks - On My Couch stamp set.  Postage to Australia is huge.  Was wondering if anyone in Australia or close by has a set that they have used and would now be happy to sell on???  Thanks for your help.

Craftmad Daily Pink Challenge - Day 6 - Previous Card Sketch

Day 6 of Craftmads Daily Pink Challenge was to use a previous months Sketch Challenge.

I chose to use this one from December 2010

I started with my plain white pre-scored card.  Next a layer of Pink Bazzill Two Scoops.  I added the pearlescent white card stock with a wonderful border sticker across it.  Next came the green layer which I have run through my Christmas Vines embossing folder.  The white cardstock I ran through my Candy Stripe embossing folder (see it comes in handy Stacie :-)  Topped this with a Sarah Kay 3D Paper Tole topper that I have layered up with silicone glue.  Finished with three clear sticker baubles to which I have added a snowflake to each.

Well a nice quick post from me today as I am busy, busy, busy.
Have a wonderful weekend as I know I will.  Tell you more possibly on Monday. ;-)

One more important thing.
Be sure to visit Craftmad tonight as they haver their Girls Night In Create and Chat night happening.
Starts 7pm Queensland Time.

Christmas Card Tag

Today my card is for Day 11 of the Craftmad Daily Pink Challenge - Use a Tag.
Thanks to Stacie I already had this tag sitting on my desk. :-)
So I have coloured it with my copic pens and then went around the edges with a Holly Leaf stamp I have had forever using SU River Rock ink.

The card I started with SU Very Vanilla then a layer of SU Rose Red.  I added this lovely patterned paper which was a giveaway from a magazine.  Stitched around the edges with my sewing machine.
Next attached the tag and held it on there with the ribbon and bow.  Finished with three little gold sticker bells and a sticker sentiment.

Craftmad Daily Pink Challenge - Day 5 - Paper Piecing

Well it is certainly wet here.  I think just one too many prayers were said for rain to green things up and cool things down.  What a down pour we have had yesterday and last night.  Our seasonal creek is flowing and it is only October.  Normally, we don't see that until December.
It is certainly cooler and the plants and grass will be loving it.
Although our dead bamboo at the front that we sort of got side tracked from cutting it down has collapsed.  So guess what I will be doing some of today.

Today I have another card for the Craftmad Daily Pink Challenge.  This is for the Day 5 challenge which was paper piecing.

I decided to use my brand new SquidgiDigi (Flamin Bug) that I won over at Make it Monday last week.
I am really happy with the clean look of the card.  It was so tempting to add a black border line but I resisted.  The patterned paper I found in my collection. The headlights and windscreen are pink bazzill. I added Dimensional Magic to the headlights.  Tyres and number plate I coloured with my copics.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Pansies 3D Paper Tole

Hi everyone, today I am sharing my take on the Day 12 challenge of the Daily Pink Challenge over at Craftmad.  Kerry asked us all to use two or more embossed papers.

I started with a blank white card then added a layer of Bazzill Two Scoops....bonus as this is already embossed.  I then added a darker pink and topped with a white card stock which I embossed with Christmas Vines.  The arch at the top I have embossed with Swiss Dots.  The 'Get Well' sentiment is a rub-on.  The pansies are from a die cut 3D Paper Tole sheet which I have layered up with silicone glue.    I went around the back of each layer with my embossing tool to shape the different layers.

Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday.

Hayley's Birthday

Hi everyone, it's my SIL's birthday today.....and here is the card I will give her at some stage.
Well actually I will be giving her the card below.
Originally I had one of Beccy's Place bears on the front but I just did not like the colouring that I had done.  Had it on the bench for a few days and it just did not grow on me so I changed the image.
Now nothing against the image as it is too cute and Beccy shares lots and lots of free wonderful images here.

I have coloured it with my copic pens.

If you haven't guessed, purple is my SIL's favourite colour so that was my starting point.
Then I decided to do another Criss Cross card as the first one was so much fun.
I used green Bazzill card as the base of the card and then covered it with various Blue Edge Combo Papers.
I have distressed all the edges of the Stampin Up Perfect Plum cardstock with the blade of my scissors.
The image is computer generated.

Now off to see what this new week will bring.
Hope yours is a good one.

Cardmadfairy Digi Days - Spots and Stripes

Hi everyone, here we are at the start of a new Cardmadfairy Digi Days Challenge.
This time we would like to see you use a Digi image with Spots and Stripes.

I have used Jenni's lovely cupcake image for this card.  Click here and scroll a fair way down.

I decided to make another buckle card (tutorial here)....fun to do a little different.
I started with Stampin Up Very Vanilla and then these wonderful Combo papers.
I thought the first paper answered everything for the challenge. :-)
I coloured the image with my copics and added some dimensional magic to the cherry.
I ran the buckle section through my Happy Birthday embossing folder.

This card also fits into the Day 7 Daily challenge over at Craftmad.

Okay, everyone, now it's your turn to start creating so I can come and visit.

I would like to enter into the following challenges.

How exciting....my little hedgehog spinner card was featured over at Inspire Me Fridays.  I was one of a 157 who linked.  Be sure to check this link up party out as there is always great inspiration in many forms, papercraft, sewing, jewellery, cooking, even fingernails.

Day 9 - 3 or more butterflies

Hi everyone, this is my entry into the Daily Pink challenge at Craftmad for Day Nine.
They have asked us to use at least three butterflies and of course Pink.

I started with the blank white card.  Added this beautiful patterned paper which I have received from someone in blogland (Sorry can't remember who but have a pretty good idea).
Along the bottom added this lovely green ribbon with lots of butterflies so definitely filled that challenge.  I placed three circles down the side and added three clear butterfly stickers to each.
The image I coloured a little while ago and was nice to finely put it on a card.  I coloured it with my copic pens.  The image is Dani 's Swing by Sprinkle and Sparkle.

I have used this weeks Fetch a Sketch Challenge #8 for the layout.
(ends 17th October)

I will be back later today with a new challenge for Cardmadfairy.
See you then.

Flashback Friday 16.0 - First Tag

Today it's time for a Flashback.  Yes, I have delved back into my posts to find the first card I posted that had a tag on it.   This is for the Flashback Challenge 16.0.  One of my first posts back here in December 2008 had this card.  I think my card making has changed just a little.  I did like the vellum that I used on this card, covered in fern leaves.  The tag was from a lovely set that my friend Joy gave me way back when.  It is her birthday today and the poor girl has to celebrate it in Venice, Italy.  lol (Wish I could suffer like that)  Joy is in the last weeks of her wonderful six month trip to Italy and surrounding countries.  It has been so much fun reading about her journey and seeing her amazing photos.  You can check them all out here on her blog if you like.  Find the Joy in Life.

Do you dare go back and discover your first card with a tag on it?

Bra and Knickers

I had so much fun creating these cards.
Both of these cards are exactly the same shape and it's amazing how a little decoration can take you to different parts of your body.  I mentioned this to ladies at tennis yesterday and we all looked to our bums and decided that in real life these parts of the body are not exactly the same shape. lol

I have used Kerry's Template here.  Cut the shaped from Stampin Up Blossom Blush.  I then cut the bra pieces from glitter paper and added some detail with the silver border stickers.  Layered up these lovely paper flowers.

Again, I cut the knicker shape from glitter paper and then decorated with silver border and left over stickers.  I saw that one of the ladies over at Craftmad had added a tat to her card and thought it was a great idea.  So found this flower rub on to add to the card.
If you want to see some other ways of doing these cards be sure to check out the Daily Pink Challenge over at Craftmad.  Warning it is very pink.

A New Home

Hi everyone, today I have the last of the the three cards I made for my two nieces and nephew who recently moved into a new house.  Thought they would enjoy discovering mail in their new letterbox.

To get me started on this card I used Day Three of the Daily Pink Challenges from over at Craftmad.
The challenge was to incorporate patchwork.  Which you can see down the side.  I cut the Kaisercraft patterned paper into small rectangles, attached and then stitched around them all.
I decided on an Easel card so that maybe my niece could put it up on a shelf in her new room.  I have layered up bright greens and pink cardstock.  Coloured this wonderful mushroom image from The Paper Shelter with my copic pens.  Finished with a gold sentiment sticker and a touch of bling.

Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday.

Oh before I go.....I have to share that I was a lucky winner over at Make it Monday.
I won four fun digi images from Squidgi Digi for leaving a comment on one of their many entries.
Always Anything Goes challenge and Always wonderful inspiration. :-)

Happy Birthday Doug (lil brother)

Morning everyone and now we are into the second week of October and it's my baby brother's Birthday today.

This is the card I created for him I had earlier set myself the challenge of using one of the Daily Pink Challenges over at Craftmad to create a card for him.  Yes, I had to use pink.  I think I managed to get away with it though and it still looked manly enough.

I used the day four pink challenge - which is to create a spinner card (tutorial here).  Now I have done one of these but used 20c pieces and it ended up very clumsy but this uses 5c pieces and ran so smoothly.  Yes, I gave it a work out before handing it over to my brother. :-)

So I started with a blank white card, a layer of Stampin Up Briliant Blue and this wonderful patterned paper (sorry no name).  For the spinner section I printed out Happy Birthday on to some plan white paper and attached that behind the the Metallic Maroon cardstock.  I coloured this fun Penny Black hedgehog image with my copics.  I so love colouring this little guy and bringing him to life each time.

I just thought it needed a little more on the card.  So I added three brads top and bottom.

Happy Birthday Cathy

Happy happy Birthday Cathy over at Cathy's Creative Corner.
A little bird told me it is your birthday today. ;-)
Wishing you a good one.

This is the card that I sent to Cathy.

I started with a blank white card, layer of  Stampin Up Elegant Eggplant then a layer of this beautiful Stampin Up patterned paper...sorry don't know the name.
The sentiment is computer generated.
Another layer of SU Elegant Eggplant with some lovely gingham ribbon.
I stamped this fun bird image from SU Good Friend set with SU Elegant Eggplant inkspot.
Cut him out with my Spellbinder Labels 18 and cut around his legs which were outside of the die shape.  The patterned paper on his wing just finished the whole bird off.  Oh, and I used the very handy  flatback pearls.

Happy Friday everyone.

Jack's House

Hi everyone, another new Home card...this one is for my little two year old nephew.
I finally had a try at making a buckle card...so much fun....instructions here.

I started with red cardstock and then a layer of Blue Bazzill Bling.  On the inside I have used some wonderful combo paper.  The buckle is made from some more Bazzill.  I printed the sentiment on the computer.  This is another terrific image from The Paper Shelter....I really don't know why I have not used them sooner...they are so much fun to colour.  I used my copic pens again.

Wishing you all a terrific Thursday, no huge plans for me.

Day one of Craftmad Daily Pink Challenge

Happy Birthday to my penfriend Marja....all the way over in Finland.
Her birthday is on Friday but I sure she doesn't visit and won't get a sneak peak.

The base card looks like Kraft card and came with some papers I received as the protective layer on the outside.  Next a layer of Stampin Up Rose Red and finally I got to use this beautiful patterned paper, sorry can't remember the name.  Then more Stampin Up Rose Red, a layer of this lovely textured paper I have collected.  The topper is backed with the Kraft like cardstock.  I stamped this great watering can with Stampin Up Rose Red inkspot on to Stampin Up Very Vanilla.  I have seen a few images around blogland that have been left uncoloured I really like the effect.  Couple of strips of card and some matching pearls.

Craftmad - Pink Challenge - Day two

Hi everyone, a better late than never post.
First day back to school for our kids....last term of the year - 8 weeks.
So our routine is a little different this morning.  After then left I left to go and help my brother and sister-in-law clean there new home they are moving into.  Yes, sadly the previous owners seem to have just up and left so we are cleaning off kids finger prints and daddly long legs out of the cupboards.
Other than that their new home is just amazing and although much bigger than where they were they will fill this very nicely.

This leads me to my card today.  I was looking through my digital stamps and spied a couple that I have not had the chance to use.  There were three mushrooms and I thought these would be brilliant from my two nieces and nephew as they move into their new house.  I thought it would be fun for them to see that the mailman found where they lived.

So I started with this fantastic mushroom image from The Paper Shelter.  Coloured it with my copic pens. I so have to remember if I start with shadow on one side it should always be on that side. lol
I have made a 'Spring Card' to be part of the wonderful new challenge happening over at Craftmad.
This challenge is a lead up to the Girls Night In Chat and Create night 21st October which is helping to raise funds for Breast Cancer.  This is a daily 'Pink' challenge.  The lovely Kerry is posting a new challenge every day of October.  Luckily, we do not have to post every day but should have all we have done in the appropriate album by 3rd November.  The challenge is to see who can do the most.

So this is the Day two daily 'Pink' challenge which was to create a Spring Card.
I started with Pink Bazzill card and added some lovely Pink glitter paper to the base.
Layered the top up with a bright green and pretty patterned paper I have had forever but love.
The sentiment is printed off the computer.

For my creation this month I have decided to make a small gift box.  I found the template for this Closed Square Box here.  I used Stampin Up Peach Parfait to print the template onto and then cut out the shape.  Next I added a layer of this wonderful patterned paper on each panel. (Sorry don't know the name).  Next a layer of Bazzill Two Scoops in alternating orange and red.  This Bazzill cardstock has an embossed design on so that you can use you sand paper to reveal a lighter colour underneath.  Magic!
I stitched around the edge of each panel.
Next I adhered a skeleton leaf and either maroon flatback pearls or orange flatback rhinestones.  All from our wonderful sponsor Pizzazz Aplenty.
I finished the lid off with a little Thank-you tag.  The sentiment is a rub-on.

Blogland is full of talented people

Hi everyone, just a very quick post to say a very big thank you to these two lovely ladies who have shared some of their talent with me.   Blogger certainly makes this world a smaller place and lets me meet like minded crafters.

The lovely Fran of USA or Just Cutnup offered these lovely daisies that she has crocheted herself.  Yes, I put my hand up received them in the mail on Friday.  They are so pretty and like I said to Fran they will be waiting for a special card put them on.

This wonderful hanger was a total surprise from a wonderful lady in Germany.
I was lucky enough to find her blog here at Mobolilu - Kunst und Karten
You can see this hanger on her blog back on the 12th August here.
Isn't this hanger so pretty....lovely colours...just the right amount of bling and a beautiful flower.
This now hangs on my fruit basket in the kitchen so I can see it daily.

Thanks so much ladies I really do appreciate these lovely gifts.

Thanks also to all the people that take the time to visit my blog and take the time to leave a comment.
I really do enjoy hearing from you all.

:-)
