Merry Christmas from our household to yours. Wishing you all a fantastic day.
Ho Ho Ho!!!!
This card proves that good things happen to crafting items that wait. I received this lovely image (PSX-K1603) in a swap last year. I coloured it then and added white glitter to all the snow areas. I must have ran out of time as I found it in my stash and now was able to make a quick cards this year. The background paper is from a magazine giveaway. I have layered the image onto red and gold card. The Merry Christmas sticker is from the Sticker Store. Have a wonderful day. |
A couple of cards I have created using the Cardmadfairy Creations image called 'Christmas Carol'. I think this is such a clever name for this image. Yes, I have coloured in with my watercolour pencils and a Copic pen for her face. Alas this pen has now fun out....now I am down to one Copic pen in my collection. :-( That is something I will be working on next year....making my Copic collection bigger. Anyways, I printed off some sheet music for 'Jingle Bells' to use as the background paper. Found this lovely stringy silver ribbon in my collection to finish the card. |
More printed off sheet music used here....such a fun and easy background. The sprig of holly came from a shop bought card I had received in previous years. |
Side view of the concertina folder. Surprisingly easy to make. |
I really like the colours of this card...they are all stamping up colours. Finished this card with faux stitching around the edge of the topper. |
The photo doesn't show but I have added Kindy Glitz to the petals and Dimensional Magic to the centres. I do think this card looks much better in real life. Now that I look at the card on here I am thinking I should have put a little more on the strip along the bottom......too late ..... present is all wrapped. Take care and I will have another scheduled post again soon I am sure. I am so hoping these are all working otherwise I have lots to show you in January. :-) Oh and the third card I scheduled a post for a couple of days ago as I wanted to enter into another challenge. The Build-A-Sketch Challenge at Stamping Vacation. Just a reminder on the prize this month at Stamping Vacation. For the month of December we have CARDMADFAIRY as our sponsor. Jenni will be giving away a $15.00 gift certificate and there will also be a $10.00 gift certificate to Scrap Attack! The winner will be randomly chosen on January 1st! We will be showcasing their stamps throughout the month. |
These are the cards I made to go in the Card Holder I showed you yesterday. All the cards have been made with a BE white gloss card as the base card. The papers and card are all Stampin Up. This sure makes life easy for coordination. The image are all from Cardmadfairy Creations. They are all stunning images and fun to colour. This image is called Butterfly and I have coloured it with my watercolour pencils then added some bling. I have used to images here...I cut the top one out and adhered to the image on the card. |
This time I have used 'Flowers 1'. Again coloured with my watercolour pencils and then added some Kindy Glitz to the petals. Used my Victoria embossing folder and finished with the lovely gold sticker 'Happy Birthday' from Sticker Store. |
And here we have 'Spring Tree'. I used my three green watercolour pencils to colour the leaves. You can't see to clearly but I have added Kindy Glitz to all the berries in the tree. Again I have used the 'Victoria' embossing folder and this time I have added a row of pinpricks along the bottom. I really like this effect and don't know what I never thought to do it sooner. The embossing folder is just too short for the size of card I use. Also added the flower splitpins which I topped with bling. |
Lucky last......I so love this colour combo...so soft. This is 'Flowers 3'. More watercolour pencils were used on this card. Finished with the three match split pins from Stampin Up and the silver 'Happy Birthday' sticker from Sticker Store. |
Start with A4 sheet of card. |
Turn up approx 4cm....allow enough room for cards. |
Fold the folder in half and then cut a 'v' shape from the centre on the 4cm section. Also cut a section (half a triangle shape) off each end of the fold up section. |
Now punch four holes to thread the ribbon through. Try to punch close to the edges to allow room for the cards to sit in the holder. |
Thread the ribbon through. |
To make the lace flower, cut a piece of lace approx 20cm long. Then using needle and thread do a running stitch along the edge of the lace that you want as the centre. |
Pull the edge tightly to gather up into the flower shape and knot the ends. I then added a medium sized retro flower punch and a bling flower to the centre. |
I decorated the front of the folder with my lace flower and the Love Dove image from Cardmadfairy Creations. I coloured the image with my watercolour pencils and added some Kindy Glitz for a bit of sparkle. Stamped up the letters to spell out the word 'Cards'. Mounted the image on card that I have run through my Swiss Dots embossing folder. Finished the front by edging everything with black border stickers from Sticker Store. |
The inside of the holder with finished cards which I will share with your tomorrow. |
