End of January Already

Hi everyone, well thats one month of 2021 about to finish, last day.  Sully kept us entertained as per normal and has discovered he can jump up to the lounge.  So we are in the process of teaching him he can be on the lounge when we decide not him. :-)  He is so agile, as he can go from standing at the other side of the room playing to suddenly being in your lap with a toy in his mouth.  It's like we have skipped a bit through time as we really don't see it coming and he lands in our lap in a very comfortable position.

Craft-wise, I'm still working on my crazy patch work quilt for the lounge.  The scraps have been sewn together now a couple of times but are still in rows.  So to get some angles happening I have cut majority in half on an angle and hopefully today I will randomly sew different halves together and changing which straight edge I use.  Told you making it up as I go.

Inspired by my friend on instagram @clarke_lyn, I potted up my daughters pots with succulents. Sorry a bit lazy when taking the photos, no dusting and not moving them so that the sun was not full glare behind. Had fun choosing the plants for the pots though.

These pots I have on the verandah and thought I'd share how lovely they look at the moment.

A bit of paper craft.  One of the lovely ladies I work with had her first baby early in December.  I was asked to do the baby shower invites which we had a week before baby arrived, just made it. Had so much fun doing these.  I found any pretty pink patterned paper to suit the onesie.  Printed the outline and invite on the paper and hand cut each one.  Tied lots of little bows to match the paper and attached the onesie to a glitter background or gold embossed background.

Hope you all had an enjoyable week and hope the adventures in this week to come are fun.

Back to work this week

Hi again, well I have survived returning to work after a 6 week break.  Hard work getting that brain to remember what it needs to do but it is getting there.  Thought I would slowly show you cards that I have created over the past year each time I post.  So todays cards I created for Craftmad Swappers - January Swap and I had to do something W - found this window die cut shape that I had received earlier in another swap.  I found a card on Pinterest for inspiration, then embossed the rectangle on the background cardstock, added paper doily for the curtains, planted some flowers and freehand cut the little cat.

This card I went for W - Weaving - I love how bright and cheery it turned out.

My latest project is a crazy patch or crumb patch quilt.  This is my attempt to try and reduce some of the items in my craft room.  So I have grabbed all the small pieces of fabric I could find and sat and sewed them together. Matching the same sized pieces and ensure the colours were not the same.  Now I'm ironing out all the seams on those matched up pieces ready to cut in half on a diagonal and start sewing again this time ensure no two fabrics are together.  My plan is to do this until I have a nice pattern big enough for a 6 - 7 inch square.  The final quilt will be used on our lounge so not a big quilt.

This is one of the views I had yesterday morning at 6.30am when I started my walk with Sully, friend and her dog.  Looking across the racecourse to the mountains and a lovely 21 C.  After the rain and humidity we have had the last month this was perfect.

I completed this jigsaw yesterday, 100 pieces - wouldn't this be the best room, although I would have to add some patterned paper amongst all that.

A photo of Sully, now 4 months.

Till next time, a quote to finish with.

The best way to predict your future is to create it.

Sully the Puppy

Sully the mini poodle just before Christmas 12 weeks old and enjoys climbing on top of things.

After his first haircut - 14 weeks done by me, so a little rough around the edges but we both did well. :-)

Sully enjoying the area my husband and I fenced yesterday - my happy and satisfaction for the day.  We have two acres but never any fencing so could never relax with our other dog Scruff as always had to keep an eye on him and of course the moment you didn't, he'd disappear behind a tree and reappear 20 mins later.

My happy for Friday and surprise was to see how many of you lovely ladies commented on my post from Thursday.  It was so wonderful to see so many familiar names and I hope you are all well and safe.

The Saturday happy - I completed another room of from my spring cleaning list - well summer cleaning.  6 rooms done and 4 to go, on the downhill now.

Take care, till another day.

We'll see how long this lasts :-)

Morning everyone, I'm feeling like trying blogging again as I have missed seeing and being inspired by all your wonderful creations.  It's January and I am seeing this is traditionally when I do a post but totally missed to 2020 :-0  Eventually, I'll share some crafts I have been up to but first I just want somewhere to put a little positive from each of my days and I think this is it.  Don't get me wrong my life is all good but with all this COVID world news sometimes I forget. :-)

So my positives for yesterday 13th January -

I got to nurse my friends 6 week baby and she is just beautiful.  Our new puppy (15 week mini poodle) happily sat on my lap while I did a half hour stint on the desktop.
