Thanks Card - Relay for Life

Well the weekend has arrived, today we start 18 hours of walking for Relay for Life.   It will be nice and cool but is a little cloudy so hoping any showers can hold out until Sunday arvo.  Team outfits are complete, as to are the baton and our team letterbox.  We have banked all our fundraising and as a team raised $2321.90.  However we still accept donations here which go to our team total.

I am sharing another Thank You card I made for one of our many sponsors or people who donated items.  We were lucky to have bread donated for our sausage sizzle from Jackley's Bakehouse, huge donation from NQEA, St John's Young Lifestyle who let us use their facilities for our cardmaking night.  Status Signswho let us use their marquee to shelter us tonight. :-)

I have used papers from Stampin Up, image is from Passion for Stamps which I coloured with my copics.

That is it for me.  Have a wonderful weekend.  Things are going to be slow for me catching up with blogs and posting as our renovations have started.  Our bedrooms have been stripped ready for tiling and gyprocking.  So we are sleeping on the floor in the living area. :-)  Soon to move out of home.

Berries Paper Tole

Morning everyone, a beautiful cool morning with clear skies here this morning. :-)
Today, I have another paper tole from the Hearty Crafts Fruit Die Cut sheet.  I decided to start with the Craftmad March Card Sketch Challenge.   So dug out some purple linen textured card stock that complimented the berries of the paper tole.  Then a layer of gold, next handmade paper which I tore around the edges.  I used my Spellbinder, Reverse Wonky Rectangles to create the buckle with the gold sticker sentiment.  Then layered up the die cut paper tole using 3D foam tape.

Our daughter has finished all her block exams so we get to have some time together today. :-)  Have a good one everyone.

Craftmad Quilt Block Swaps

Finally had the chance to catch up on my quilt block swaps for my partners over at Craftmad.  At the start of this year we decided to swap a different pattern of block each month but using the same colours, dusky yellow, dusky blue and dusky green.    The fabrics above were all I could find a the time, each lovely on their own but as a combo don't quite work.  Well the first block I am sharing is a Rail Fence block that we swapped back in April.  Yes, I am a little behind. :-)  This was the end of my yellow fabric, so I went in search of more.

I happily came across these three new fabrics which look so much nicer together.   This is our May swap and Pinwheel #7 (instructions here)

And now I am up to date as this is our June Quilt Block swap which is a Shoo Fly.  I think I like the names of Quilt Blocks as much as the quilt blocks.  :-)

Another week starting hope you have a good one planned.  For me the countdown is seriously on for our Relay for Life event which is this coming Saturday and Sunday 22nd and 23rd June.

Unstampabelles DT Halfway Inspiration

This month at Unstampabelles our challenge is to CASE (copy) a Design Team members creation from any post on Unstampabelles.  Easy hey!  Well at this stage we only have three entries which is pretty good odds to win the wonderful prize of a $25.00 gift certificate from:

I needed a card for my niece's Communion today so I decided to scroll through all the Design Team cards and find one that had a simple layout.  I found Lauren's from our Challenge #15 - Embossing (photo below).  For my card I started with a white base, a layer of silver then white again which had be run through my 'Victoria' embossing folder.  I then made a banner with more silver and a layer of white run through my 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.  I dug out one of my Spellbinder Labels Die and cut the white layer with the die...the silver layer I drew the outline of the die I used to cut the white label and hand-cut.  Then finished the label by creating a cross with my silver bling.  Down in the corner I have used a doily and three beautiful flowers I received at Christmas from my Secret Santa (Beth) :-).  Finally got to use my new Spellbinder Die with leaves....I will add the name shortly as the desk is in the other room and I am rather comfy.

So come on over and enjoy the fun.

On the home front.  Our son and his girlfriend returned to Brisbane this morning before sunlight. Their visit of a week went way too fast.  :-( Mid next week the builder thinks he will start on our renovations. :-0
So if I disappear from a long length of time it is because we have to move out due the bathroom and kitchen being done.  Exciting and scary all at the same time.
Happy Sunday to you all.

Pears (Paper Tole)

Some pretty pears today. I am trying to catch up with the Monthly Craftmad Sketch challenge.  This layout is from the February Sketch Challenge here.  I started with these lovely sparkly die cut pears which I layered up using 3D foam tape.  I used a blue square base card and a layer of Sweetpie Pastel Stripes  a strip of pink and then a layer of beautiful lace.  I finished with a white Happy Birthday sticker.

A side view to show all the layers.

Thanks for passing by and saying Hi!  Wishing you all a terrific day.

Amazing Quilling

Isn't this amazing......this artwork is all quilled by Anant Nanvare.  I discovered it while catching up with blog posts at 'Just like that.....Aesthetics in Art and Design'.  Check out this blog for more info.

Peacock

I used a wonderful Peacock diecut to create this card.  Started with a purple based card and a lighter shade of purple all Linen Textured Cardstock.  Behind the peacock diecut I added some shimmery wrapping paper.  I then used my oval bling to highlight different areas of the peacocks tail feather. Found a little peacock feather patterned paper in my stash to add as a border.  Then finished with rainbow colour Happy Birthday stickers across the top.

If you visit Blue Edge Crafts you will see two beautiful card creations using this wonderful diecut.

Thank You Daffodil - Relay for Life

Another Thank You card for a wonderful donation to our Relay for Life team Crew Cure.  Again using the terrific combo of purple and  yellow, I started with a square base card and layered up a selection of papers and cardstock.  Used my new favourite Spellbinder Marvelous Square dies.  The daffodil image from Passion for Stamps which I coloured with my Copic pens.  Finished with a Just Rite Thank You stamp.

Well that is another week done and dusted.  A busy one but one full of achievements, the main one having been choosing all the tiles, paints, cabinets etc with my husband for our soon to happen renovations. Wishing you all a terrific weekend.  I know that I will be having a good one as our son is home for  a week and there is a craft fair on Sunday.  What more does one need?  ;-)

I CASEd a card by Cathy....which is the teddy bear card below.  I have used all linen textured card stock for this card from Blue Edge Crafts.  Then added these lovely flower stickers that I received as part of a swap over a Craftmad.

Our sponsor this month is the wonderful Cardmaking Online who has donated a $25.00 gift certificate for the Unstampabelles Challenge #24 prize.

So pop on over to Unstampabelles, be inspired, create and enter.
I have done up a collage of all the Design Teams work for the past year to save people scroll through the blog.   This is my collage.
