Last Craftmad Quilt Block swap for 2013


This is the last of my Craftmad Quilt Block swaps for 2013.
November we had to do 'Road To California' blocks.
Yes, I was very slow with this one and didn't mail them off until last week.  I had run out of fabric so struggled at finding time to get into Spotlight.  I really enjoyed this block, easy to put together but very effective.  Next challenge is to put the all the blocks I have sewn and received together and form a quilt.  For that matter I still have to put together the 2012 quilt blocks.  :-)
Next year our plan is to swap blocks each month using christmas fabrics.  This all came about as my daughter suggested we should have a Christmas quilt on the lounge instead of the regular throw we have all year round.

    Great colours and patterns! Looks so neat and tidy! I could never get my blocks to look half as good!

    Love your block Merry - such neat stitching and pretty colours. I can never get my pieces to line up neatly and of course, once 1 goes out of alignment, the whole thing is a mess. Now if I could just hop on a plane and fly up to Qld, you could show me the tricks of the trade.......

Gift Bags

I made these two gift bags and filled with chocolate to go with the thank you cards I posted yesterday.  I found this wonderful mini bag tutorial on Silvey's Craftroom blog.   This bag comes together so easily and no cutting is involved.....just scoring and folding then decorating.   I have used my new Floral District Design paper from Stampin up to embellish the outside of these bags.  I didn't add any flower embellishments as I think just the papers may have been a tad on the girly side for the recipients.  The inside of the bag.  My friend Helen found on the internet at some stage these wonderful magnet clasps which are intended for real bags.  Helen kindly gave me a couple and I was keen to put them to use.  They were perfect for this bag and kept it closed tightly.
