Finally had the chance to catch up on my quilt block swaps for my partners over at Craftmad. At the start of this year we decided to swap a different pattern of block each month but using the same colours, dusky yellow, dusky blue and dusky green. The fabrics above were all I could find a the time, each lovely on their own but as a combo don't quite work. Well the first block I am sharing is a Rail Fence block that we swapped back in April. Yes, I am a little behind. :-) This was the end of my yellow fabric, so I went in search of more.
I happily came across these three new fabrics which look so much nicer together. This is our May swap and Pinwheel #7 (instructions here)
And now I am up to date as this is our June Quilt Block swap which is a Shoo Fly. I think I like the names of Quilt Blocks as much as the quilt blocks. :-)
Another week starting hope you have a good one planned. For me the countdown is seriously on for our Relay for Life event which is this coming Saturday and Sunday 22nd and 23rd June.
very good.
ReplyDeleteLove the second combination of fabrics. Isn't it strange how just changing the fabric the whole pattern changes completely even which colours you choose as the dominant can make a pattern pop.

How fun. Sewing is not my forte but I admire those who do it. It takes so much precision attention to detail.
ReplyDeleteAlso, since you've played at our chalk blog before I wanted to let you know that it's anything goes with chalk at Chalk Ah Lot for the next 12 days. Hopefully you can join us.
Best Wishes,
Cindy
