Nephews Birthday Card

I made this card for my nephew who is turning 25.  I thought at this age and being male he doesn't want anything over the top.  So grabbed three washi tape rolls and weaved them together on my card. Finished with a die cut medallion someone had given me and added a star brad to the centre of it.  Then added a Happy Birthday sticker.

Block Card and matching bag

I decorated this brown bag to match the block card that I made for my friends birthday.  I found some old Stampin Up papers in my collection that worked so well together. Dragged out a couple of dies.

This is the front of the block card - folded down and ready to put in an envelope.

The rear of the Block card, standing, ready for display.  I really enjoyed making this card and so much easier than I thought it was going to be.   I used this tutorial.

Hoping your day is a good one.

Card for my friend who turned 50

This was such a fun card to make for a friend who turned 50. She quite often shares a nice body on Facebook, so i took this as my starting point. So it took me a while to collect all these photos but I stuck with it. ;-)  I put all the photos I found in a photo editor program - PicMonkey and created this collage. Along the way I found the topper for the card which I thought was apt for a 50yo card as by this age we are no where near perfect. :-)

I added this twisting pop out to the centre of the card for an extra bit of fun.

Hope this gave you a smile, enjoy your day.

Birthday card using washi tape

I love how washi tape looks on cards.  Great for a card that you need real quick. I made this for one of the ladies at work. I teamed the tape with a mixture of my paper flowers and brads. Finished with a die cut Happy Birthday.

Potholders

A little more sewing and photo catch up.  I made these small pot holders as gifts to my work colleagues for Christmas.  I added a couple of chocolates to each.  I like to give something that can be put to use and not share too much sugar around as I don't think too much of that is a good thing.

The potholders did look much prettier when iron but I forgot to take a photo of that.  This is the pattern I used.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog, have a great day.

Craftmad Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone,  I'm catching up here.  This is a card I created last year with one of the Craftmad sketches.  After finding the sketch I then found this daisy diecut in my stash and worked back from there.  I attached it and a backing of black card to a piece of acetate which I had run through the embossing folder and colored it with a copic pen. I teamed it with this wonderful black and white daisy paper.

Have a wonderful day.

Nieces 14th Birthday Card and Present

I used these wonderful laser die cut birthday frames.  I have used two and layered them on top of each other with foam tape in between.  I teamed this with layers of textured card stock, zig zags, dots and glitter.  Just a bit of fun for a 14yo girl.

This was actually my very first snappy pencil case that I made and my niece seemed pretty happy with it. Tutorial here.  I ended up with 7 pencil cases and 2 coin purses from one tape measure.

Thanks for visiting today, hope its a good one.

Alice in Wonderland Birthday card

One of the girls from work (a good friend) turned thirty…..oh so young. :-)  She had a Mad Hatters party so I stuck with that theme when I made a card for her.  I found this wonderful digital stamp which I coloured with my copic pens.  Then I matched it with my Graphic 45 papers, doily, ribbon.  The sentiment I printed on my computer.  Finished the card with a beaded pin that was given to me many years ago but was perfect for this card, I thought.

Thanks for visiting today.

Origami Bento Bag and Tissue Holder

I made this Origami Bento bag for my friends birthday using this tutorial.  It was fun to put together.  In the tutorial Shannon had added her name to the shoulder section of the bag.  I thought this was a fun idea so stamped Merrymade with Staz On ink onto ribbon and sewed that onto the shoulder of the bag.

I hope its a bag that my friend can use, I imagine going to the beach and holding towels etc.

I made this tissue holder to go with the bag - tutorial here.  Another quick and easy project something I saw in the Facebook group - Make one a week - Christmas Club.  I'm really having fun using my sewing machine again and finding ways to use my stash of fabrics.

Have a great day.

Sisters Birthday - Foil Embossing

I made this card for my sisters birthday, I don't think of her as a typical flowery girl (lady) but wanted something with a bit of colour.  I embossed different colours of foil I have in my stash.  Then put them together like patchwork on the card.  I found that if I stuck sticky tape on the rear of the foil pieces as I worked out where they were going I could trim each piece to the size I wanted to fit the card front.  I thought I had finished but it just didn't look right so I tried each section with a black line sticker.  I think this made it pop.

Card for 20 yo Niece - Classy - Black and Silver

My niece is not that girly girl but I wanted something special for her card since she was turning 20.  No more teenagers for that family either.  I dug out my Graphic 45 papers and layered them all up with black and silver card stock.  The final square I have cover with cloth that has strips of silver through it.  Then die cut the 20 from foil and finished with the lovely black border stickers.
