Wedding Card

I was asked to make a wedding card for my friends granddaughter.  They had been using burlap to decorate, so I decided on a natural looking card.  This is a layout I have used before.  I have used Stampin Up Naturals White which has a flecks of coloured paper through it.  I ran a section through my Cuttlebug with the Victoria embossing folder.  Printed off the sentiment and then layered up the card with gold paper...looks like brown in this photo but in real life has a shimmer.  I found some twine and tied a 'clove hitch'.....as they are getting 'hitched' on to some bamboo pieces.

Nice and quick for me today.

Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments on our reno post below.

Have a good one.

Reno Photos

I have found that elusive moment to share our reno photos with you.  I am pleased to say that yesterday the last of the gear we had stored on the verandah has now found a house.  So happy.
Today I have one more pile of stuff to go through in our family room which includes all our ornaments and various papers.  So not much to go at all.  Yay!

Remember to click on the photos for a larger view.

We will start in the bathroom - this is before when we had a separate toilet but decided we wanted a bigger bathroom so now the toilet is in with the bathroom.  I was dragging my feet on this decision and touching lots of wood the decision really has not been an issue.

Our bathroom gutted and the toilet wall taken down also the hallway wall which is where I am standing.

Tadah!.....yes we feel like we are on holidays all the time.  You can find me in there straightening the towels and wiping down the sink.  Sure that will wear off eventually. :-)

Love the walk in shower, so glad we got rid of the bathtub.  Only thing we did not think to add was somewhere for my daughter and I to rest our foot when shaving our legs.

Our main bedroom which we love, love, love.

Years ago the room was painted a yellow colour as that is what our painter friend had spare so was a cheap options.  So I had made curtains to match.  Now it is all fresh and white.  The walls were gyprocked  and the pink carpet pulled up and replaced with these wonderful white tiles.

It wasn't till I found these photos from a couple of years ago and now have the kitchen that I do that I realised how small of an area it was.  Yes, this is me with a granny look happening.  Not the servery window.

Just another view looking towards the fridge.

The servery window being closed in and the wall extended just a little.

Cupboards gone.

Another Tadah! moment and another place I constantly walk around with my cloth to help keep it all shiny any new.  I really did not want to cook in here at all an put splatters around the place. I have overcome that now and enjoy cooking in my new kitchen.  It doesn't show well in the photos but the splashback tiles have a wavy line to them.

I have a pantry and thanks to Helen when the door opens a light comes on.  :-)

A big thank you to our builders.  Everything done in these photos took 3 months.  Seemed long at the time but really was blink now that we enjoy it.

Thanks for visiting and I hope your Sunday is a good one.  The weather is cool at the moment but will soon heat up I am sure.  Still lovely clear days.

Halfway Inspiration for Unstampabelles

Hi everyone a bit of half way inspiration for our challenge at Unstampabelles this month.  It is all about using your scraps and old stash.  So I googled for a bit of inspiration and came across Alison's card here.  I knew that I had the blue 'hello' in my stash so that was the starting point for the colours of papers I punched circles from.  I attached these circles to a strip of paper which I then trimmed to fit the front of the card.  I have been hemming up curtains so my sewing machine was all out and ready to use for this card.  Inked around the edges of the card and each of the circles.

At this time we have an amazing 35 entries into this months challenge.  So many wonderful ideas of using up old stash and scraps.  You can enter here to have your chance in the fantastic prize from Craftmad.

We are enjoying our newly renovated house and yes, photos are still coming.  I am so surprised as I am still unpacking things and getting rid of things.  Down to the last few which are the ones I have been putting in the too hard basket.  Finally got to hang the curtains in the family room on the weekend.  Took over a month for our curtain rods to arrive.  So now I am re-hemming the curtains as we had to lower one set to fit under the aircon which set the height for all the curtains in the room.  Nice and easy sewing just finding the time that is hard .... like always.    Our daughter has been doing lots of exams at school for her final year.  So she has been spending a bit of time at home in between exams....so I am sidetracked with her.  My Dad had to have an op on Monday (yesterday) so was worried about him but  visited him yesterday afternoon and he is very comfortable and settled in for a couple days of TV watching with total control of the remote control.

Just had to share these beautiful roses.  Our daughter did a Drama assessment yesterday and props were needed.  So her friend raided their garden....I so hope Mum knows.  As the friend had to stay at school longer our daughter was able to bring them home with her and we now have the pleasure of admiring their lovely colours and smelling the lovely scent.

Well must dash and start on the next task.  I will catch up with you soon.

Two new Soccer Cards

I had a lovely surprise email in my inbox last Thursday arvo.  It was from Dayle who had been googling and come across my Thank You Soccer cards and requested two by this coming Friday.
I was so very honoured to be asked.

The thing is when I make a lot of my cards it is with items I have in my stash which means often the last pieces of items in my stash.  So the original Soccer card here I had used the last of my wonderful green glitter paper from Blue Edge Crafts.  This meant I had no more for these cards, so I rang my friend who does Stampin Up Ruth and asked for green Glimmer paper.  Ruth only had silver Glimmer paper but suggested using ink on it for the right colour.  Thought this is great as I have a Wild Wasabi inkpad and that was the cardstock I planned using.  Well to start with I was just stamping the inkpad onto the Glimmer paper which meant only a hint of green.  Then I shut the inkpad and pressed so the ink went onto the lid and using a slightly wet  paintbrush picked up the ink and began painting the Glimmer paper.  Great result.  In the end I had one card base Wild Wasbi and the other Always Artichoke.  Again, I used my Spellbinder Octagon die to create the soccer ball and my Justrite Letters for the sentiment.  The cards were in the mail on Saturday morning.

Wonder what this week will bring....hope it is a good one for you.

Thanks

Well this is the last of my cards I had sitting in draft posts.  I made this card as a Thank You to one of the sponsors of our Relay Team.  Once again I have coloured up the daffodil from Passion for Stamps with my copic pens.  The papers are Stamping up.  I have used my Marvelous Squares Spellbinder die to cut out the image.

Very quick post today.  Have a good one and thanks for visiting.

Red Owl

Hi everyone, and owl card today.

I started with a black base card and then layered some Blue Edge Crafts Christmas Traditional and Traditional Green Textured papers.  The green paper I ran through one of my embossing folders first.  Then I topped it with this cute Hearty Craft Owl Die Cut from Blue Edge Crafts.  The owl has three layers.  Along the bottom I added a line of Lime Green Oval Bling.

I am really happy how this card turned out.

Nothing too exciting happening here today which is so nice to say after the last couple of months.  Just me and my dog.  Oh, our daughter is sitting the last day of her QCS testing which is what she needs to do to get an University score so she have a chance at Uni next year.  Although she is not sure what she wants to do.  One step at a time. :-)  Almost an end to her stressful and final of year of school.  Only just under three months remaining.  Have a good one.

DT Card for Unstampabelles Challenge #27 - Using Scraps and Old Stash

Hi everyone, another month, another week and another challenge at Unstampabelles.  This month the challenge is to use Scraps and old Stash.  Our sponsor is Craftmad, a wonderful crafting forum that I have belonged to since May 2005.  Lovely ladies to chat craft with and we have swaps (recipe, card, sewing, quilt blocks) and card sketch challenges each month.   So Craftmad being Unstampabelles sponsor this month worked in my favour as I needed to do up two cards for the August Card Swap the theme was 'Things with Wings' (see gallery of swaps here).  So this was the starting point for my Unstampabelles card.  I found these cute bear stickers in my stash.  I have had them for years and am down to my last sheet now.  So once I found the stickers I then new what colour theme to find in my scraps box.  I decided on a patchwork effect and layered some cardstock behind the bees.  The 'Hello' was in my stash and I was lucky enough to receive this from a fellow crafter but sadly I can't remember who.  If it was you, please let me know.

The house is in the final stages of being completed.  The builder is here for the final time today, freaking my dog out.  Over time with nail guns and drills, Scruff has become a little nervy.  So like now while they work on the gutter I have to sit in one spot so that Scruff can hide and relax near my feet.  So figured I may as well be on the computer and catch up on some things.  I will post photos soon of our renos.  Probably next week when we have the carpet in.

Well hope you all have a wonderful week and find time to play with your Scraps and Old Stash.  Please visit Unstampabelles to see how clever the rest of the Design Team has been.

Oh, to entice you a little more this is the prize on offer from CRAFTMAD.
