Merry Christmas - Snow Village

This card proves that good things happen to crafting items that wait.  I received this lovely image  (PSX-K1603) in a swap last year.  I coloured it then and added white glitter to all the snow areas.  I must have ran out of time as I found it in my stash and now was able to make a quick cards this year.   The background paper is from a magazine giveaway.  I have layered the image onto red and gold card.  The Merry Christmas sticker is from the Sticker Store.

Have a wonderful day.

Sticky Situation Challenge- Design Team Project

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying yourselves.  Another of my scheduled posts for you....I hope they are appearing when they are meant to.  Today, I have another Christmas Explosion box.  Remember you can find the instructions for these over at Craftmad.. here.

I have made this box for the Sticky Situation Challenge over at Stamping Vacation.  This month Denise has asked us to use a border sticker of any kind.  I have used this lovely star and circle border sticker from Sticker Store around the top edge of my explosion box.

I have used bazzill card for this box and this lovely striped paper which I have saved from Better Homes and Gardens pull-out at some time.  The Merry Christmas wording on the outside is part of the paper.  I added the silver snowflake and bling in the centre to each side of the box.

The inside of the box I used more of the beautiful striped paper.  Then topped each panel with a glittery bauble sticker.  I have attached the sticker to lilac bazzill bling and cut out.  Then topped with a cute little bow made on a fork....this makes life so easy. ;-)

This is the top of the box.  I have used this terrific image from Cardmadfairy Creations who is our sponsor this month over at Stamping Vacation.  You can't see too well in the photo but I have gone over the outline of the star with Kindy Glitz and then added bling.

Be sure to enter this challenge or another of the listed 30 challenges at Stamping Vacation to be in the December prize draw for a $15.00 gift certificate from Cardmadfairy Creations and a $10.00 gift certificate to Scrap Attack. Drawn 1st January 2011.

Fountain of Youth Challenge - Design Team Card

This is the card I have made for the Stamping Vacation, Fountain of Youth Challenge.  This month Denise has asked us for a snowman.  I was thinking this cute little snow baby image reminded me of a little human snowman.  This digital image is called 'Snowbaby's Gift' and is from Cardmadfairy Creations our sponsor this month.

I started with a blue base card and then added this lovely embossed background which I received in a swap earlier this year.  I coloured the image with my watercolour pencils and added Kindy Glitz.  I also added yellow Sparkle and Soft to the stars on the bear present.

Finished the card with a row of pin pricks along the bottom edge and a lovely silver Merry Christmas sticker from Sticker Store.

Hope your Monday is a good one.

Helen's Card

I made this birthday card for my very close friend Helen.  Helen love Hydrangea's so I went in search of an image and discovered this one here for free.  The layout is this months sketch challenge over at Craftmad.  I coloured the image with my watercolour pencils.  Found an appropriate sentiment from one of my Stampin Up sets.  Then added three Stampin Up buttons to the side and filled them with bling.

Also gave her a bag of Clinkers.  Apparently, she has a rule if she bites into a pink one first she can't eat any more of the packet.  Never did ask she had to give the remainder away. :-)

Christmas Carol

A couple of cards I have created using the Cardmadfairy Creations image called 'Christmas Carol'.  I think this is such a clever name for this image.  Yes, I have coloured in with my watercolour pencils and a Copic pen for her face.  Alas this pen has now fun out....now I am down to one Copic pen in my collection. :-(  That is something I will be working on next year....making my Copic collection bigger.

Anyways, I printed off some sheet music for 'Jingle Bells' to use as the background paper.  Found this lovely stringy silver ribbon in my collection to finish the card.

This time I have cut out 'Christmas Carol' and adhered her to this wonderful embossed panel that I received in a swap.  The best bit is this card has a white core so I dug out my emery board file and sanded some of the top layer of card away. Also went around the edges of both card layers with the scissors edge to give a distressed look.  Finished with little gold star stickers.

More printed off sheet music used here....such a fun and easy background.  The sprig of holly came from a shop bought card I had received in previous years.
This time some blue was used.  I cut Christmas Carol out here and attached her to the embossed Christmas tree panel which I also received in a swap.  Then I used the 'Season's Greetings' rub on and finished with bling on the tree.

Have a terrific day whatever or wherever you are.

Tic Tac Holders

Once again I have visited the wonderful Stempeleinmaleins for this Tic Tac Holder.  This idea was the perfect little something extra I wanted to give to my teenage nieces and nephews.  These days I tend to give them cash, or gift cards or Scratchies.  But I always feel it is nice to have a little something as a surprise.  So I bought the biggest boxes of Tic Tacs I could and created holders for each of them.  For the first four I have just Stampin Up Cherry Colbbler Card and Old Olive.....also the Jolly Holiday papers...such a pretty combo.  I added different embellishments to each holder and down the spine added a gold or silver christmas sticker from Sticker Store.

These last two are extra special as they are for my son and daughter.  I had been wanting something special and small to give to both of them on Christmas Day.  My daughter came in while I was making the above holders for her cousins.  She started saying "it's not fair you always make special things like this for everyone else but never for us".  So thanks to my daughter she helped me find just what I was looking to give them for Christmas and I made it right under their noses.  :-)
The papers on these are extra special and I really don't like cutting into them as they are so lovely.  They are Allison Ellis papers from Blue Edge Crafts.

No No Challenge - Card Holder

Today I am sharing the card holder that I made for my MIL for Christmas.  The tutorial you will find on Stempeleinmaliens blog site.  I have used Cardmadfairy Creations digital flower images for the cards and the holder.  Also tried to stick to the same papers and card to give a bit of a theme....not something I normally do.  I have coloured all the images with my Stampin Up inkspots  and blender pen.  Then added some Kindy Glitz to the petals.  The card and paper are from a Stampin Up set that I won from Ruth and am not really sure on the colours.

I am entering all of these creations into the No No Challenge at Stamping Vacation........the challenge is to not use any punches.

Side view of the concertina folder.  Surprisingly easy to make.

I really like the colours of this card...they are all stamping up colours.    Finished this card with faux stitching around the edge of the topper.
The photo doesn't show but I have added Kindy Glitz to the petals and Dimensional Magic to the centres.  I do think this card looks much better in real life.  Now that I look at the card on here I am thinking I should have put a little more on the strip along the bottom......too late ..... present is all wrapped.

Take care and I will have another scheduled post again soon I am sure.
I am so hoping these are all working otherwise I have lots to show you in January. :-)

Oh and the third card I scheduled a post for a couple of days ago as I wanted to enter into another challenge.  The Build-A-Sketch Challenge at Stamping Vacation.

Just a reminder on the prize this month at Stamping Vacation.

For the month of December we have CARDMADFAIRY as our sponsor. Jenni will be giving away a $15.00 gift certificate and there will also be a $10.00 gift certificate to Scrap Attack! The winner will be randomly chosen on January 1st! We will be showcasing their stamps throughout the month.

Cards using Cardmadfairy Creations Digital Images

These are the cards I made to go in the Card Holder I showed you yesterday.  All the cards have been made with a BE white gloss card as the base card.  The papers and card are all Stampin Up.  This sure makes life easy for coordination.  The image are all from Cardmadfairy Creations.   They are all stunning images and fun to colour.

This image is called Butterfly and I have coloured it with my watercolour pencils then added some bling.  I have used to images here...I cut the top one out and adhered to the image on the card.

This time I have used 'Flowers 1'.  Again coloured with my watercolour pencils and then added some Kindy Glitz to the petals.  Used my Victoria embossing folder and finished with the lovely gold sticker 'Happy Birthday' from Sticker Store.

And here we have 'Spring Tree'.  I used my three green watercolour pencils to colour the leaves.   You can't see to clearly but I have added Kindy Glitz to all the berries in the tree.  Again I have used the 'Victoria' embossing folder and this time I have added a row of pinpricks along the bottom.  I really like this effect and don't know what I never thought to do it sooner.  The embossing folder is just too short for the size of card I use.  Also added the flower splitpins which I topped with bling.

Lucky last......I so love this colour combo...so soft.  This is 'Flowers 3'. More watercolour pencils were used on this card.  Finished with the three match split pins from Stampin Up and the silver 'Happy Birthday' sticker from Sticker Store.

Card Holder Tutorial - Lots of Photos

Start with A4 sheet of card.

Turn up approx 4cm....allow enough room for cards.
Fold the folder in half and then cut a 'v' shape from the centre on the 4cm section.  Also cut a section (half a triangle shape) off each end of the fold up section.

Now punch four holes to thread the ribbon through.  Try to punch close to the edges to allow room for the cards to sit in the holder.

Thread the ribbon through.

To make the lace flower, cut a piece of lace approx 20cm long.  Then using needle and thread do a running stitch along the edge of the lace that you want as the centre.

Pull the edge tightly to gather up into the flower shape and knot the ends.  I then added a medium sized retro flower punch and a bling flower to the centre.

I decorated the front of the folder with my lace flower and the Love Dove image from Cardmadfairy Creations.  I coloured the image with my watercolour pencils and added some Kindy Glitz for a bit of sparkle.  Stamped up the letters to spell out the word 'Cards'.  Mounted the image on card that I have run through my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Finished the front by edging everything with black border stickers from Sticker Store.

The inside of the holder with finished cards which I will share with your tomorrow.

Gift Card Holders

I just have to tell you about something new that has started at Craftmad.  Kaye and Kerry have got together and are holding Create and Chat nights.  Yes, you go online and chat away whilst you are crafting.  Brilliant.  I managed to have time to pop into the last Create and Chat night and this is one of the projects Kerry was sharing.  Gift Card holders.  The next time it is on is Australian Time Friday night 10th December (QLD 7pm, NSW 8pm).  Check here for more details.  They are making another Gift Card holder and a Christmas Card with Pocket.

My daughter and I combined our efforts to create these gift card holders.  Just what I was looking for to send gift cards, or money or scratchies to my nieces and nephews this Christmas.

Have a fun Thursday.....I will.

DT Card - Build A Sketch Challenge

I haven't done one of these challenges in a little while.  It is called Build-A-Sketch Challenge over at Stamping Vacation.   So much fun.  Denise over time has listed 16 different shapes to be used in sketches and each month Denise list five or six of these shapes to use in your sketch.  This month Denise has asked us to use numbers 1, 2, 4, 8, 13, and 16.

Pictured above is the sketch I came up with and below is the card I created.

I have used the lovely Flowers 3 Digital Stamp from Cardmadfairy Creations.  I think this is one of my favourites.  Coloured it with Stampin Up inkspots to match the Stampin Up papers which I won as a set and not sure of the colour names.  You can't see in the photo but I have added Kindy Glitz to the petals.  I distressed all the edges with my scissors blade.  Something that I have taken a real liking too.  Found this wonderful 'Happy Birthday' rub-on in my stash.  I went around the edge of the circle with my black pen....to create some faux stitching.

The prize this month over at Stamping Vacation is:-

For the month of December we have CARDMADFAIRY as our sponsor. Jenni will be giving away a $15.00 gift certificate and there will also be a $10.00 gift certificate to Scrap Attack! The winner will be raondomly chosen on January 1st! We will be showcasing their stamps throughout the month.

When I Grow Up Challenge

This month over at Stamping Vacation the When I Grow Up Challenge asks you to post a creation for a Waitress.  I have used one of our sponsors (Cardmadfairys Creations) wonderful images to create a Waitress for my card.   The image is called 'Ellie' and I have coloured her with my water colour pencils.  I found an image of a tray of plates on the internet, printed them out and coloured with my pencils and gold pen.  My background paper is from Stampin Up....sorry, I don't know the name.   The card is Stampin Up Riding Hood Red which I ran through the printer and printed '#1 Waitress' on to.

Remember:- Inspiration Tag is right here at Stamping Vacation ! Be like a kid again and play TAG with us! We will be playing tag until December 5th when a randomly chosen winner will be chosen for a $25.00 gift certificate to the store of their choice!

I just wanted to share with you the end result of my Flippin Christmas cards.  Thanks to the wonderful suggestions from people who visit me I created this bauble shape that can be flipped to the back to reveal the background picture.  So thanks so much for taking the time to come and see my creation and offer suggestions.  :-)

Craftmad November Sewing Swap

This month over at Craftmad our sewing swap was one Christmas Tree ornament.  I discovered crazy quilting ealier year and so that is the direction I headed with my sewing.  I dug out all my green christmas materials and sewed them together on angles.  Then embroidered a row of flower like stitches near the bottom.  Added some red sequins and clear beads.  Found three green christmas bells.  Then next I raided my ribbon bag and found the red and white stripe also the holly leaf.  Finished with this lovely red gross grain ribbon.  As for the shape of the ornament it is meant to be a tree but as I sit here and look at it  it could be a bell.
Happy Friday everyone.....wishing you all a fantastic weekend.

Crhistmas Explosion Boxes

Yes, I have been having fun with these Explosion Boxes.   The lovely Kaye (eyak48) over at Craftmad has written a terrific tutorial for us.  Be sure to visit and have some fun.

I have used some lovely glitter reindeers to decorate this box.  I added the little red nose to Rudolf and made a matching striped ribbon flower.  To finish I added the lovely red Merry Christmas sticker from Sticker Store.

I printed each of the reindeers names onto white card stock and then tore the top edge to create a snow effect.

The red bell Christmas tree ornament is my present to a friend I am visiting today.

This box I finally got to use this lovely that I have saved from a Better Homes and Garden Magazine one year.  I have decorated the outside with beautiful clear glitter bell stickers which I have stuck to matching card and cut around.  The greeting stickers and bell stickers are from Sticker Store.

This time I decorated the box with these beautiful Allison Ellis Christmas design papers.  Wrapped each panel with gold edged ribbon.  I then cut out a bauble from the paper and raised it up with 3D foam.

Hope you have fun creating some of these boxes too.
